Thank you in andvace.

Its just the shortcut, that starts Galaxy, you can start the exe from the game folder. If you uninstall Galaxy it will not uninstall your games.

You can uninstall Galaxy without issue, but you will need to repair or remove the shortcuts created by it. In the future, there are offline installers available for the games you can use to install without including GOG Galaxy.

So, what's the verdict? Should I get the client or isn't it worth the hassle?
For a site with a focus on old games, requiring Windows 8 or newer for your 2.0 client doesn't seem like a particularly bright decision. Meanwhile Steam and most recent PC releases work fine with 7... there's zero incentive to upgrade Windows until Microsoft really forces us to by stopping security upgrades, and who knows if they won't extend the deadline.

The support for Windows 7 is already over. The last security patch was yesterday.
Sorry for stupid question, but where i could download older Galaxy, like the one mentoned above 1.2.65? There is only 2.0 when i try to download it.

On main page and forum botton is a button "download Galaxy" which still gives you the old version.
GOG Galaxy isn't launching for me anymore. I've never had issues using it before. The only difference is all the Windows 10 updates that came out today. Anyone else having this issue?

Just started having this problem. Well, it launches and then shuts down with a message about losing connection.

Update - I found the solution (worked for me). Go to Support, GoG Galaxy, Galaxy Specific issues, see all 15 articles - there's one about losing connection. You have to reset your Winsocks for some reason. After the reset you'll need to log back in and and authenticate, etc.
Hey,
we have released an update to GOG Galaxy.

Along usual bugfixes and optimizations, we additionally updated code signing certificate.
Until reputation of it is estabilished for Windows Defender and other similar software, Galaxy might be identified as suspicious software. This should disappear in the next few days.
