Niggles: Are you guys saying its better to get the one which includes steam key are you? :P
For me, it depends on the game. Any game that depends on previous saves for unlocks is one I like to have the saves in the cloud as well. Losing a drive meaning I have to gather all the SotS:TP recipes from scratch is something I wouldn't want to do, or unlocking the same stuff in Reus all over again. Having to replay Quest for Glory on the other hand isn't that much of a problem for me, especially since all that may be lost are the exported characters, which are much easier to get.

Yes, I could set up my own backup for the saves, but that is extra hassle I'd rather not have to deal with, though if not possible, then that is what I do.
One off games like most adventures and/or RPGs I don't mind either way, though the longer ones do require me to remember to keep backups of the saves.

qft, I lost all save files for my drm-free games (and steam games that don't support cloud-saving) due to a recent hard drive failure that I just did not see coming, and I was very happy that steam had backed up the rest of my saves for me! (not losing 80 hrs of progress in dark souls was such a huge relief I tell you)

in general I like having both a drm-free copy and a steam copy of a game, that's why I prefer buying my indie games from humble store

save all your non-cloud capable game-saves to some place else, incl. dropbox etc., automatically.

thanks, I will try that!

edit: that was a lot easier than finding the saves individually and backing up, thanks again

to everybody: GG has Postal 3 on 70% off
the GG.UK prices are nearly some 40% cheaper than the GG.EU prices (~12K BLC vs 7K BLC)

cmdr_flashheart: Wow, that's awesome! BundleStars just got a huge + in my book :]

Also, a bunch of bundles on Indie Gala
http://store.indiegala.com/index.php/bundles.html
I was looking to finally use some of my gala points, but none of those re-bundles use gala points, I was really hoping to get them cheaper. O well.

One more bump:

Red Orchestra 2 free on steam (for those who missed this news)
http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/35450/

Click install game to keep it forever, like L4D2.

edit: it adds to account, no need to actually start installing.
