PincushionMan: Thanks for the recommendations above.

As for the deals - I know, I know, Steam Sale, but if it has its own thread, I've not seen it:

Torchlight II is 75% off for 4 more hours ($5). The 4 pack is also 75% off ($15). For those that don't know, Torchlight is a Diablo-type clone (isometric fantasy based hack-n-slash), made by some folks in the industry that may have worked for Blizzard. Oh, except for the steam-punk setting.

Torchlight added some nice features, such as not having to wear out the click button on your mouse (true story), not having to always warp home to sell stuff (you send your pet away for a bit), an interesting story, and built in modding tools.

From what I gather, Torchlight II adds multiplayer PvE (no PvP, IIRC), and continues the story.

Edit: Described Torchlight
In case anyone comes late and wants it or is on the fence, the game is expected to reappear as a daily deal sometime over the week, most likely at the same price :)

Is there any chance of Torchlight II showing up on GOG in the future? Also, I noticed Torchlight II is available for $9.99 from the developer including direct download.

Not sure there's a way to know. I think the version they sell (non-steam) is DRM-free, if that's what you're after, but you may want to read the torchlight forums and check. As for coming to GOG, without a proper announcement it's impossible to be sure even when it's likely to happen eventually since the first game was released here.
The new free bundle looks rather excelent:

Everything I've seen says the version of Torchlight 2 sold from the dev's website is not DRM free. It has to call home to activate.

It is a one-time activation per installation. You got the installer, enter your code and then the full game is unlocked. The code is good for 10 installations, then you have to "recharge" it by sending them an email.

If I'm not mistaken, that was also the case for Torchlight 1. It still wound up here :-)
Saints Row The Third (Steamworks) for US$2.50 is a bit of a bargain, and it's a Steam trading cards game, too! Probably a glitch, so hurry! (£2.50 for Brits)

New Week on GG Sale starts I guess.

Velvet Assassin is €1.24 and it's DRM Free!
Tweak in initial settings a bit and it gets a great game.

And Silverfall Complete £3.75 / 5666 BLC on GG.UK, SecuRom

and new IGS is Private Infiltrator from $1
BTA: OST

And Precursors is on sale again, -50%, £4 /6.019BLC on GG.UK, Starforce.
along with Xenus 2 White Gold, -50% £3.50 / 5267 BLC, SecuRom
and The Expendables 2 , -50%, €7.48 / 9733BLC, Steam.
Don't know how good that game is, ...

Oh and I nearly forgot the Adventures:

Diamon Jones 1 - The Amulet of the World -50% £3.48 / 5237BLC, SecuRom
and
Diamon Jones 2- Eye of the Dragon -50% £4 / 5989BLC, SecuRom
Besides some translation issues these are really enjoyable.

Stay away from Diamon JOnes 3, though. This is just a Hidden Object game.

Yeah, which is stupid since the base game is not region restricted.
