toxicTom: Bad Mojo is a rather unique game. And Darklands is a very interesting open world RPG set in a "realistic" Middle-age-Germany - with all the beliefs and superstitions come true. So not your usual Tolkienesque/DnD standard fare. It's not very nice to look at though, and sometimes rather clunky.
I'm conflicted about Bad Mojo. It looks really interesting, and I might want to try it someday, but on the other hand I am afraid of bugs >__o ... I'm nervous that I won't be able to sleep after playing it :-p

I'd better move Covert Action out of my backlog soon. How can I call myself an Agent when I haven't played it yet? :-)

Ah, ok - Bad Mojo also has a scene with a spider up close, so if that's not your thing, better avoid.

Covert Action is a nice game, but with all of the classic MicroProse games, reading the manual is a must.

Maybe some day when I have a bit more courage ',',','',:-p

I've noticed that the manual for Covert Action is literally 10 times larger in size than the game itself. That has to be a record.
Good afternoon, fine people !
**Big hugs with tea**
Did you spend a lovely weekend ? :)

Thanks for rescuing the thread, Wings :-)
My weekend was nice. Not exciting, but nice. Spent some time being creative B-| (which I don't do too often these days, so it was nice.)
How was yours?

Sounds like an awesome weekend! Glad it was so great :-) Did you find anything cool at the sale?

(Oh, sorry... I was just excited to see you :"( ... I'll tone it down a little next time.)

toxicTom: Caught a little cold, and the usual fatigue... Otherwise I'm fine.

And yes, Gothic's controls are a little strange. But it's possible to get used to them, and otherwise it's a fine game. The controls work rather well in melee IMO, once you get the hang of swinging and parrying.

Did you apply the patch that restores the In Extremo concert in the game?
Sorry to hear that. I hope you will be feeling better soon. *big get well soon hug*

They are a little strange, but what little I played I enjoyed. Okay, I literally only played a few minutes (10-15), as at the moment I am not really up to playing games or being at the computer for too long, but it seemed like a fun game. Plus Moon says I have to like it, so I guess I had better like it or else. :-)

I did not apply any patch, I just have the basic GOG version. Does the game need patches?

ElTerprise: I actually know a lot of people who haven't played the game :)
A lot of non-German people you mean. From what I hear you are only a true German if you love and have played Gothic. :-)

Hope you have a good day, and get some good rest. Take care of yourself, DD.

You should know by now that if you can think it, the US has made it into food. :-)

FearfulSymmetry: Hey everyone! *Waves and hugs* I hope your day is going better than mine, because so far it's sucktastic.
*big super mega comforting hug*

I am very sorry to hear you are not having the best of days. If you ever need someone to talk to or vent to, you know where my chat is.

That sounds like a person. Does she know you call her Big Lille behind her back? :-)

Good afternoon, Owl! *big afternoon hug*
Still haven't gotten my copy of Mobile forces back... I might not have any evidence that i bought it but why would i lie? I have bought so many games on gog, that i probably funded an office whirlpool all by myself!

I'm so disappointed of you GOG!!!

And hi everyone! how are you doing? I'm pissed!!!!!!

That is unfortunate. I can understand it from a business point of view, but as you say, why would you lie about it after all you have purchased. it's not even as though it's a big expensive game.

Is that a bacon tankard filled with peanut butter? :-)

Edit: And how is your Monday so far, still going well I hope?

P.S. Bad Mojo is lots of fun, at least I thought so.

The original German on-disk release had a little in-game concert of In Extremo, which was one of the Wow!-moments for me back in the day.

Unfortunately the international and digital (even the German) releases lack the concert - for licensing reasons. There's a little patch that re-enables the band playing in those releases. I have it somewhere at home, if you want it, otherwise Google is your friend.

Problem with the patch is that it makes all texts in the game English (which probably doesn't concern you).

Also there are a couple of fixes/hacks/mods that allow for higher resolutions and view distance. Not really necessary, I use them since I've already completed the game (twice) and just wanted to look what is possible.

Only thing that's left is the Bypass Burger and some ACS fries
