Ixamyakxim: I'm FINALLY going to play Bloodlines! (By some strange miracle, missed it on release - original release, not here - and spent the next decade-ish hearing about how fantastic the game is post-patching).

Will fire this one up sooner rather than later (maybe by the weekend?). How about you?
Working till Sunday, then hopefully get to have some fun, game or otherwise. :-)

Ixamyakxim: So for both of you - things that interest me - playing the game in a fairly standard manner, but with the bugfixes (obviously) and if possible with pretty visuals (the screenshots look fantastic - is that possible "out of the box" at modern resolutions / widescreen without heavy patching?).

Things I'm less interested in - "added" content / heavy overhauls of the interface and game mechanics. Barring something being totally broken or downright stupid I'd like to play the game as originally released. Examples of stuff I wouldn't want to be "tweaked" - I know in some of the BG games they redid THAC0 in mods and in other games starting gear or stats are reworked - I wouldn't want that kind of adjustment without a STRONG reason.

So, fire away Joekerr / Crow!
Okay, looking at things now, and the unofficial patch also provides widescreen support. I'd say to go with that since you can choose whether to keep the game at its standard level, or to add the extra stuff to it.
Given that when I loaded it a minute ago, and it was a bit on the pixelated side in full screen, I'm thinking the GOG screenshots might've been taken while using a way to improve it. (Or maybe my graphics are just shit and need to be upgraded.)

If you can recall / have actually mucked about with it (assuming you have the GoG version?) do you know if this is included in the GoG version (haven't installed yet) and / or whether or not I'll have to play around to get it on the GoG version if it isn't there.

If you can't remember don't worry too much - I'll be able to figure it out. My biggest thing was just trying to figure out WHAT I should be running, not so much the how LOL. Sounds like "unofficial patch" might be a decent start.
