Yeah. I'm always a sucker for games where you can create things (although I'm generally horrible at creating), and the fact that this actually has gameplay that goes along with it is cool.
Also, I really like how the graphical style (low-res cubes) allows for technology that can't really exist in games how they are now. If would be impossible to implement the randomly generated terrain, infinite landscapes, and dynamic water like Minecraft has with a game that was more detailed due to its relative simplicity.
Wow. This game can be scary. I'm surprised. Just mined my way into an underground cavern filled to the brim with zombies and giant spiders. The fact that it is pitch black down there and the only source of light are torches which don't light up very far. It's so simple, yet so addictive.
Best $13.30 I have ever spent?
Quite possibly.
I'm still having a blast with Minecraft. Apparently multiplayer for the alpha version is going to be patched in tomorrow, which is both incredibly exciting and pretty scary (considering how addictive the game is already). Maybe some GOGer could set up a server?
Edit: I looked at the stats page for Minecraft...
"In the last 24 hours, 3257 people registered, and 1303 people bought the game."
Not bad for a one man project without any real marketing at all... total sales is almost 45k now.

Most likely due to this
Played the free version for a while, then i recently purchased after seeing the neat stuff you could do in the alpha.
Also, the Survival Multiplayer sounds like it will be awesome if the server's world is persistent, though I predict griefers will be a massive problem, but hopefully notch has taken that into account.
Apparently Notch is a GOG fan. He retweeted GOGcom's Serious Sam announcement today.
Another reason to buy this fine game.

Im not sure how the creator using GOG makes it any better.
I must give this game props for curing my addiction to Dwarf Fortress and keeping the wife off my hair.

Birds of a feather flock together.
This is fun. Personally I love building huge underground complexes, though I'm expanding to the surface now.
Is there a maximum depth? I've been digging down for a while now..
The game has a huge amount of features, with more coming. It's great.

I think there may be a limit to how deep you can go. I came across molten rock which pretty much prevented me from digging deeper. Maybe I just ran into a bad spot, but I think i'm pretty much at the bottom. Still haven't found a single diamond vein, aswell. :|
I bought Minecraft for me and my bro - he loves it to death. He already built a huge fort which links to a huge tower that is the entrance to masssive underground caves connected via an intricate web of tunnels and channels.
He says creepers are creepy. I'm playing on peaceful, since I'm a pussy. :3

Does Peaceful turn off enemies? I think I may do that, too, until I build a giant fort that I can protect myself with.
Ran into my first gripe with the game. Minecarts. They are optional but my god, the way they work is fucking retarded.
