oh boy! glad it calmed down a bit, I was getting a little frightened to post anything with so much anger going around O_o

So far that I've understood the game until now, what I'm getting (might be wrong of course) is
1. than none of us know who scum is (apart from the actual scum obviously)
2. that we should vote for someone because it's the only way to even have the slightest chance of hurting scum on day 1 (no lynch just gives them a free NK and a continuation of RVS on day 2)
3. the two wagons with any likelyhood of succeeding right now are Yogsloth or CSPVG (not anymore I guess...)

So, since I do really want us to hit scum but have not the slightest idea who that may be, I'll have to go by feeling and so far for me yogsloth does make more sense than CSPVG in defending. I for one am fine with seeing how night one plays out and what yogsloth does have to say in his defense on day 2 (as in reads), if indeed he survives the night which doesn't seem likely if he's telling the truth. We can always lynch him then if it doesn't make any more sense by then, but if he does tell the truth it would just be one major mis-lynch...

As for CSPVG and lurking I'm not one to make any accusations since I'm not the most active poster myself, but looking back at the last game I'd rather have someone talkative (like bler144 last game) in the end who I think might give scum quite the hard time (but then again maybe not, in the scum thread last game they were IIRC always more afraid of jmich because they didn't know what he can do:/ and then there's this statistic HijacK was mentioning just now... Can anyone link to that maybe?) So I guess it's not that good of a reason to vote for someone afterall, but if I had to choose between the two, at the moment I'd tend to go for cspvg.

Since this is now moot (refreshed just before posting and saw yogsloths unvote) I'm now even more unsure what to do with my vote. I guess I'll just wait to see what happens. I don't have any accusations myself to throw out at anyone.
Wow, I've hardly gotten over the experience of someone trying to break in my home while I was inside, and come here to see all hell has broken lose.

While I agree that we should all try to not take what others say personally, it wouldn't hurt if we all made a little effort to watch the tone and language we use to address others and express what we want to say.

trentonlf: [...] As far as I'm concerned you can shove your opinion so far up your ass everyone could see it when you smile.

[...]
While how we address/ treat each other is no laughing matter, and even though you didn't mean it this way, this made me laugh.

avatar
yogsloth: This happens to me in real life all the time. [...] I never seem to get the trick of this kind of thing. [...]
If I may - perhaps take into consideration the individuality of each person?

Back to the game, I don't fully agree with yogsloth's assessment regarding lurkers and contribution; one can post all day long, and still not contribute. And most of us have made a few posts that are hardly contributing, if even related to the game.

Anyway, I have to think about my vote, as I don't want it to be influenced by the recent exchanges. And after refreshing, I see that yogsloth unvoted CSPVG, and I wonder if that has anything to do what transpired.

flubbucket: I need a gummy.

trentonlf: This is more your style :)
You know me...and I'm touched (I'll take two please, bowls that is).

Oh stuff it fatty pants!!!
avatar
yogsloth: Unvote CSPVG
Because of the reason.
yogsloth: No hard feelings on my end. I think you're right to criticise me (and here I really am talking only about myself), as I haven't posted that much (I have reasons for this, but they're not the point, really). I do, however, feel that there has been some content there, but I can see why a person would think that they don't contain much.

For now, I too will Unvote: yogsloth.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Wow, I've hardly gotten over the experience of someone trying to break in my home while I was inside
Non-game related, but I'm glad you're seemingly safe and that they only tried but failed. Be safe out (errr, in) there, kids!

O_o that's just… uncool.

I knew I could count on you.

I'm fine, cheers.

Leonard03: O_o that's just… uncool.
Didn't think of it in these terms, but cheers... I guess?
Hey, everyone just became so nice all of a sudden, unvoting and hugging all around.

avatar
CSPVG: For now, I too will Unvote: yogsloth.
Do mind explaining why you unvoted yogsloth? What changed while people were barking at each other that made you rethink? You listed a bunch of reasons for voting for him and I don't believe yog did or said something to shake them off. Don't tell me that was an OMGUS vote.

You just love poking wasp nests with a stick, don't you? :P Are you also in the stick pinata giveaway?
avatar
RWarehall: Is it just me, or is this group not nearly as interesting as last year's bunch?
I don't think it's just you. I'm bored too :)

avatar
cristigale: For now, I'll place my vote with the lurkiest player. With no good scum candidates, I'd prefer to vote for someone who does not contribute as much (relative to other players) to the game.

Vote CSPVG
Man, I hate lynching a player just because he's lurky, but unless someone slips...

avatar
adaliabooks: Agent - I've already expressed my dislike of agent's play / attack / whatever against Lift earlier, particularly the climb down afterwards and moving his vote despite being so vehement Lift must be scum. Also, most of the arguments he used against Lift could have been applied to trent and he didn't seem to be bothered by him at all.. Plus, of the three he seems to be most convinced by yogs' play, he comes across to me as too certain of what he is doing. And I think it's either because they're both scum, or because agent is scum and knows yogs isn't and is telling the truth and wants to buddy up to him.
Nah, I kind of take trent's attitude towards yogsloth as a natural part of the game. I would actually be more surprised if trent didn't vote for yogsloth when yogsloth does something crazy like this.

avatar
yogsloth: It’s Day 1. There will not be any Scum delivered to you on a silver platter today. You will not be certain anyone is Scum. Period. For all you wussy, whiny, reluctant voters – you simply will not be able to vote with 100% confidence here in Day 1. It won’t happen. It won’t ever happen.
I guess this applies to me :)

avatar
yogsloth: Do a thought experiment with me: Imagine for just a moment that you’re Scum, and some yahoo role-claims Town Cop in the first post. You know he’s not on your team, so he’s Town or Neutral, and if Town, almost certainly telling the truth. You would be even more confused about the play than a Town player. How important would it seem to lynch that guy so you don’t have to worry about the WIFOM of trying to night kill him, and what might happen?

Very.

They would love to have yet another game where they lynch the most active, most useful Town player the first Day, because that is what Scum always want.
Hmmm... very subtle. So you want us to vote adalia? But I don't want to. So unvote adalia.

avatar
yogsloth: Strong Town:
agent
mchack
Woooo!!! I made the list!!!

And HEY!!! He skipped himself!!! It must be a secret code!!!

avatar
yogsloth: If it will make everyone happier, and you think it will improve the game, I will resign my position. It's only Day 1, I'm sure RW can find a replacement.
Really, people? It comes to this? Calm down!

So, we've come in a whole bunch of circles and are now back to staring at each other waiting for someone to make a move.

I really don't know who to vote for. I'm going to try to go right back to the beginning and come all the way up to present, making some notes. Tonight. On my new laptop. I'll be back.
I really don't know who to vote for, even after going back and reading from the beginning. Adaliabooks seemed rather scummy for his attack on yogsloth and his random vote, but he seems to be staying in line for now. Maybe i should vote for him, but i don't have enough reason to yet. Doubt that i'll vote for yogsloth at any point today, because i really want to see what he comes up with in the morning. Obviously, if he survives, we'll get his night action, and that will also tell me definitively if i'm reading him correctly or not. Course, if he gets nightkilled, we get info from his flip and the wagons that formed on him today. To that end, i'm tempted to no-lynch, but i'll get to that later. Overall, we don't seem to have had any major slips in day 1. Reading the full thread was useful, but not especially enlightening.

Some Thoughts
They're in no special order, because I had several pages open at once and was flipping back and forth between them.

avatar
CSPVG: ...as no one seems interested in the fact that he voted for me with the help of a RNG quite late into the day,...
I wouldn't say "no one seems interested". It's definitely something that's going into my notes, but I don't feel it's strange enough to warrant a vote.

avatar
HijacK: It... it doesn't? What? How did town win all of these previous games if this is how this game goes? I simply can't fathom.
How often is it that someone posts something, and suddenly the light turns on for everyone and Town lynches three Scum in a row? That's the kind of thing that I'm talking about. And it doesn't happen.

Compare this...

avatar
adaliabooks: Yeah, and I still stand by everything I said last game.
I have no clear idea of who is scum or who is town so anyone is fair game. The only player I think I wouldn't vote for is yogs, for reasons already mentioned.
I can't really argue that we should all be voting if I'm not voting myself, so any vote is good for me.
I'm not going to argue that anyone else should place their vote randomly, but until some more info comes to light I'm happy to do so.
...defending his RNG vote on CSPVG, with this...

avatar
adaliabooks: If someone else presents as scummier I will move my vote accordingly, I don't really see what's so complicated about it...
...in which he needs more info to move his vote, with this...

avatar
adaliabooks: But as no one seems to like it and I don't want to distract everyone day 1 again I shall
...in which he decides not to vote randomly because people don't like it. Remember, in the last game he felt strongly enough about this that he eventually got lynched for it (among other things). I can understand if he just doesn't want to be lynched for the same thing as last game, but it seems pretty wimpy. And then he asks if people are happy now. Scummy! And it's the same kind of scumminess (backing off because of popular demand) that he is accusing me of.

avatar
flubbucket: Well there ya' go...
lol, what am I supposed to say :)
"Yeah, adalia and I talked it over in the scum chat on N0 and decided that we would have this totally contrived little discussion where I brought up the Finger of Suspicion because he wasn't acting normally, and then he would reply with a little emoticon and some stuff about me not knowing him."

Nuh-unh.

[It is usual for scum to have N0 chat, right? I seem to remember that from my reading of scum chats from the past two games. (Dang, that looks scummy.)]

@Krypsyn - How often do you check the thread? Somehow you always manage to be the first with the witty retort, as if you're just waiting for the opportunity.

@Trentonlf - what would you say is your current reason for your vote on yogsloth?

I'm seriously tempted to vote for no-lynch. *takes cover from the inevitable flurry of vitriol*
But we should either get yogsloth's flip (which will be very useful), or we'll get his read, plus whatever other kill happens.
I think I'll keep my vote there for the moment, in the face of opposition.

vote no-lynch
I have been away from the game for the most part because I feel like shit and when I feel like shit my attitude can easily be effected by it. I am sorry I came off as harsh as I did. I do not want yogs to leave at all. However, it is in no means right to belittle a player and call them useless because they do not play up to some certain standard in someones head. There are nicer ways to push some into posting then calling them useless. Now as I came home and napped and am feeling a ton better then before, I am going to go back to sleep and hopefully feel better in the morning and return to my normal self.. I will try my best to leave the teen girl attitude and feels behind. And I will also try to not be useless. /sorry Im leaving now.

agentcarr16: @Krypsyn - How often do you check the thread?
Quite often. I tend to do it without thinking as a reflex between tasks. Click the window, click refresh, see if there is anything worth replying to, then move on to my next task.
Friday noon vote count:

2 Yogsloth (Trentonlf, Flubbucket)

1 CSPVG (Cristigale)
1 Adaliabooks (Krypsyn)
1 BlueMooner (HijacK)
1 HijacK (BlueMooner)
1 AgentCarr16 (Adaliabooks)

With 16 players alive it takes 9 votes to kick someone off the island and 8 votes to "no-lynch".
Yogsloth and No-Lynch are closest to leaving at L-7.

Not voting: JMich, HypersomniacLive, Dedoporno, McHack, Sage103082, Lifthrasil, Yogsloth and CSPVG

First, a moderator commentary...
Just going to point out the idea behind Bagatha Chrustie...
She is a compilation of the reality game show hosts in a future world which as degenerated to some extent.
What is said by her, is not necessarily a reflection of my own views.
She's in it for the ratings and to stir controversy.
For those who have played Megarace, Lance Boyle is a good example.
Remember that.

Bagatha Chrustie back at you again...
If you weren't watching this afternoon, you missed some great moments...
This is why you want to watch Murder They Wrote!
Seems much of the cast are finally sick of living in the same house together...
Who knows what comes next!
Murder? Intrigue? Maybe more murder? Fist-fights!
You better all stay tuned in, because you never know what might happen next!
And I didn't even mention the intruder who snuck into the house!
He claimed he was something called an edit elf.
I never did like elves, even Santa's elves...
Always thought they had some secret plan for world domination
and they were taking Santa for a ride!
And just wait, we still have an immunity challenge idol up for grabs before the end of the day!
This weekend is going to be great! Stay tuned in!
