Time4Tea: No, imo GOG should grow a pair and insist that developers either remove the online requirement, or pull their game from the store. I would like to see GOG taking a zero-tolerance attitude towards DRM and/or any sort of online requirement and pushing for this to be removed from all games, rather than spinelessly appeasing developers with smallprint on the store page.
Yes, they should have the integrity to remove games from their catalogue that don't conform to their 'principle'. In the past GOG has refused many games because they had DRM - even partial DRM was a no-go. But now they have shown that their priorities have changed. DRM-free is no 'core value' anymore. It's just a meaningless marketing slogan. If GOG wanted to return to a '100% DRM-free' principle, they would have to remove NMS and Absolver and the other offenders until the DRM on them is removed.

gog2002x: If it leaves GOG, then the chance for change is absolutely zero.

Cavalary: If it doesn't leave GOG, it changes GOG (or adds to the changes, that is), and the target audience, drawing in even more who don't care and putting off even more of (the already few left of) those who do.
You're probably right and I'm certainly no expert on the subject. Maybe it was just a vain hope on my part that our voices would be heard and affect some positive response to making those changes to the games.

Perhaps the only way to be heard IS with our wallets.

Maybe off topic, but it would be nice if GOG had a system that allowed us to truly provide feedback to all these DRM concerns we have rather than having to cross our proverbial fingers that a blue representative might see our threads. The reviews section and the star ratings on the store pages just aren't enough convey our feelings, especially after the game is removed lol.
.
So, it would seem that Prodeus has DRM. An account is required to access leader boards, upload maps, and download maps. Ok, fair enough, I'm fine with creating an account for that.
Only problem is, the game won't let me make an account from my GOG copy, see attached image.

Well, for leader-boards and sharing content with the online community an account makes sense. The other thing might be a bug. So I don't know yet, whether this really is DRM or a bug. Did you contact Support? Maybe they'll help you in a month or so.

Or better yet: contact the Dev. Prodeus is in-Dev. So bugs are expected, the devs want feedback and you might have a better chance of them correcting their game themselves than GOG support.

I've shot them a message, no straight answers if it's a bug or not yet.

Unfortunately I had to include Cyberpunk 2077 in the list. Lots of us expected this. Still it is really bad to have been right with this suspicion. Some rewards - yes, single player content too - require connecting the game to your account through Galaxy. So, Cyberpunk 2077 isn't DRM-free and Galaxy isn't optional anymore. At least not, if you want your games to be complete.

Here's the blue admission of this fact: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/preload_cyberpunk_2077_today_cfffe/post117

That's only for the preload. The same happened with a game before. Upon actual release, it will be DRM-free. (or it had better be...)

Read the link. They stated that the cosmetic in-game items (a.k.a. MY REWARDS) will be available only via a galaxy login.

from that post:

"Unfortunately, we can't do much in cases of the physical pre-order and you will have to wait until your game arrives."

so wait until then before you judge?

The issue is MY REWARDS, not physical orders (two unrelated things).
They stated that the cosmetic in-game items (a.k.a. MY REWARDS) will be available only via a galaxy login.

He/she is addressing several issues in one post. The two things are unrelated,

It's stated very clearly in the CP2077 FAQ:
>>> Is MY REWARDS also available on the local version of Cyberpunk 2077 — which can be downloaded via GOG and installed separately from GOG GALAXY?
>>> Because MY REWARDS requires an internet connection, the local version of Cyberpunk 2077 that you can download via GOG will not support MY REWARDS..

Local version == offline installer.

But, you're welcome to wait.

yeah, i do. I do not think anything will change, but on general principle I never judge anything before the fact

Well, since we actually have word of mod that Galaxy will be required for the rewards and the same info is also present on the goodies page, I am quite sure that they mean to make the rewards Galaxy exclusive.

I will be happy if I'm wrong. Or if GOG reconsiders and removes the DRM from Cyberpunk 2077 and I will promptly remove it from the list when they do. But in the state in which it is now announced, it isn't DRM-free.
