As I said before in this thread I'm still subscribed to the Desura RSS feeds, just because. Up to this day, there are still a couple of devs that regularly publish short news about their games.

But today I broke a bit inside when I realized that one particular dev was completely oblivious of the whole BadJuju/Desura situation. The poor guy was actually waiting for Desura to approve his latest update to the game!

I just took pity on him and told him what happened. :(

Yep, in retrospect I agree it wasn't a wise or elegant think to do. I'm sorry.

But I can assure you it was never my intention to brag about "how I pwned some random dev on the interwebs" or anything like that. I just simply couldn't believe that at this point, somebody that is actively developing a game and regularly publishing updates about it on Desura, could still be oblivious of BadJuju's and Desura's fate.

Actually, my first reaction was to just link that game's update here, and admittedly make a little fun of it. But then I thought it would be just mean to poke fun at the dev here whilst leaving him in the dark. So I posted a comment in the game's update on Desura. Again, my choice of words there wasn't probably the best or the nicest, but what's done is done. I'm not gonna edit it. I'm sorry if I annoyed you, though.

Why are you unable to recover it?

Still, that's what I fear most about digital collections. Without the right password, I can't access any games I rightfully bought. And Steam apologetics love to give excuses to that.

Right, they didn't automate the password recovery prompt eh. I feel sorry for you.
That's probably another reason why I downloaded all of my Desura collection to my PC and storing them on DVDs.

There seems to be some light down the tunnel, they added a new game on October 29th (the first since July 1st) and I got a couple of game updates (can't remember the last time I got one).

Same! Well, mine are on the drive still and there's not many. I had to use my Steam key for Survivalist and Running with Rifles... luckily those games are still DRM free. I also have Rook's Keep and Shattered Planet which are quite nice.

It appears the dev may have actually uploaded a new version.

I don't actually get a front page for Desura anymore.
