SVDP: I'm not understanding/finding something. Can anyone help me out here? (Either devs or just other posters). I had been told the beta was going to allow me to see ALL my games, on ALL (well, all popular) platforms, aka: including those on steam and such. That's one of the main points that spurred me to try it, because I've been looking for one central place for all my games, and if that's going to be galaxy, the better!

However, the only way (as far as I can see) is the "filter" option, but, if I click on that, I only see the option of GOG.com. How do I add steam and other platforms in there? I mean, for me that was the main reason to go for the 2.0 galaxy beta, and I wanted to test that out...

skeletonbow: Gear icon -> Settings -> Integrations -> add integrations for each platform you use which are available. There are 3 categories of availability at the moment.

1. Built in already showing on the menu to choose from.
2. Built into the search box, start typing the first couple letters of the platform and see if it shows up.
3. 3rd party only available by searching the forums or Google to find other platforms and integrating them manually from Github by following the instructions provided on Github or wherever.

GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Uplay, Origin, Xbox, Playstation are category 1 above, Bethesda, Rockstar, Humble Bundle and a few others are available as category 2. Allegedly Blizzard Battle.net is available via #3. Others are allegedly available via 3rd parties too but you have to look for them.

Since it is still a beta, and since the integrations are mostly created by 3rd parties (not GOG), sometimes they are stable and reliable and other times they break or disconnect and need to be refreshed or disconnected and reconnected. As the development of the client and the integrations improve over time, more features and stability will likely result.

I've got 8 game platforms successfully integrated so far. GOG, Steam, Uplay, Origin, EGS, Bethesda, Rockstar, Humble. Some of them disappear randomly and come back a few days later, but overall it works pretty good for a beta release all things considered.

If someone is expecting a polished finished release where all features and functionality work 100% of the time and where all platforms are supported and there are never any issues/problems though, they should wait until Galaxy 2.0 is out of beta. This is beta software, not a stable polished final release where everything works flawlessly all of the time. Be prepared to file bug reports and feedback with details if/when you have any problems.

Darkwolf1515: The ability we hide games on one platform that we own on multiple platforms. Ex: I own yakuza kiwami on ps4 and pc, I want to hide just the ps4 one, but keep the pc one shown.

skeletonbow: This feature already exists in 2 ways. By default Galaxy stacks duplicates as one game, and lets you choose which platform to prefer for that game. Additionally you can hide any game from the catalog in which case it will only show up under hidden games.
thanks for your elaborate answer, I appreciate it! I'll check it out.
Just got Might & Magic Heroes VII new on Uplay, but it won't show up on Galaxy 2.0. I already disconnected and re-linked my Uplay account. All the other games are there, but this one seems to be a little problematic.

Edit: Found the problem. I had the Beta for the game and that was still in my library as hidden. But it seems Beta and actual game have the same entry on the account. So it was there, just as a hidden game.

You can't hide a game on one platform while showing it on other platforms. This would be useful for "pseudo duplicates" -- e.g., the Steam version of Anno 1800 is also regarded as Uplay game, is counted twice in the "Installed" tab and displays an incorrect value for Play Time (twice the correct amount).
Whatever you do with Galaxy 2.0, please make it less invasive and easier to reinstall after things like drive crashes.

Since my drive with Galaxy/GOG on it died, I've been unable to reinstall Galaxy 2.0 (or the regular Galaxy.)

I've spent hours hunting around the registry and deleting files in a lot of different locations, as well as rebooting lots of times.

I've had drives crash with other platforms like Steam or Origin and getting them back up was never like this.

Galaxy 2.0 must be very invasive if hours spent deleting registry entries, folders, etc. can't get rid of this error.

That's something that changed very recently when they added stacking of duplicate games, as I already had hidden a bunch of games owned on other platforms that were duplicates. In this case, the duplicate stacking is a generally more sensible/useful solution to the problem I think, but it would be nice to be able to hide games on a per platform basis also. Hopefully they fix that.
Can anyone explain to me why GOG Galaxy is black and ugly for me?

Personally I don't like the design change you did to library with 2.0.12.
The previous one was more subtle and way better. Could we please get an option to change it?

Please upvote this post if you would like to have an option.

Edit: It's back to normal

This update is huge. I'm going to switch from Playnite to GOG 2.0 soon.

I have a question. Can you run the various clients with custom command strings? ie: Steam has a flag called -no-browser that will prevent loading the chromium engine. There's no need for it if GoG 2.0 can install Steam games/dlc/etc. Can I pass -no-browser to steam when executing a Steam game?
I thought that Galaxy 2.0 would be separate from Galaxy 1, so I was surprised when this was an upgrade which outright replaced 1. I'm fine with that, and have been really enjoying 2.0 so far, but... why has the ability to pause downloads been removed? I could understand there might be technical issues involved in having Galaxy 2 pause a download through Steam or another client, but I can't even pause downloads of GOG games that I purchased through GOG and have been playing in Galaxy 1!
So this update has removed a critical feature that was present in the older edition. I don't see it on the list of known issues, either.

Making things stranger is that in the settings, there's an option to enable automatic pausing of downloads while you have a different game running. But... you can't manually pause them? ?_?

On an entirely different subject, I really like how you can make custom bookmarks for store searches and filtering. That's awesome.

On another entirely different subject, I don't seem to be able to find links to the community forums for each game from within Galaxy 2. To make this post, I had to use my web browser. It'd be nice if that functionality could be re-added, since it was also present in Galaxy 1.
Oh my god thank you for this update.

Personally love the following:
1. The new look is sleek and in line with Steam and Uplay.
2. GoG 2 opens wayyyyyy faster than the old one.
3. I can add my Uplay and Origin! Whatttt

I take it by absence of mention that Galaxy 2 is also not designed for Linux?
Anyone else having an issue streaming with GOG 2.0? Particularly with Discord? It breaks a lot, or doesn't work. If I try to stream, for example, Warband, it acts really funny. Other games simply don't launch with the overlay or will close if attempted to be streamed.
We need command line argument asap
I can't get achievements to work on GOG Galaxy 2.0. It worked for just 1 and then completely went bonkers. I'm trying to earn them for Witcher 3. I got the achievement for meeting Yennefer, and then it stopped. Nothing I do earns me achievements, it is just completely broken. I started a new save and went to try the easiest one you can do from the start, "Can't Touch This!", and completed it multiple times without taking damage and it doesn't work.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a fix? I'm only replaying to earn these achievements so it not working is a huge issue. :(

EDIT

Just tried the old GOG, on old save and new saves. Still doesn't work. What is going on? :(

EDIT 2

Figured it out. Took removing entries of ALL GOG related stuff in the regedit and then installing the original GOG client. The new one is just broken. Leaving behind registry data was causing it to fail I guess. I then tried to update back to Galaxy 2.0 and do achievements, and it immediately failed. Back to the original client, and immediately worked.

It's not that they removed a given feature, it's that Galaxy 2.0 is more or less a complete rewrite and they have not yet implemented every single feature that was available in 1.2 yet. Every Galaxy 2 update some missing features of Galaxy 1.x are slowly coming back. It's a beta for a reason of course, it's in development and not all features are present yet.

As a general rule, people should stick with 1.2.x unless they're ok knowing in advance that many 1.x features are and will be missing for a while until they are developed for the new client, and are ok with there being bugs and problems, testing and reporting bugs in the bug tracker etc.
