I think it's worth noting that I've had a GOG account since 2018 but only really started buying games on the platform in 2019. Also worth noting that the new Galaxy is, other than the new Steam client being a literal health hazard, actively LESS user-friendly than Steam's new layout. Which is being consistently complained about and has been since it was still in beta for being less user-friendly than the old client was.

So no, going more toward what Steam is doing isn't a good idea, and no rational person should think it is, and I'm not a long-time GOG user complaining, I only installed the old Galaxy late last year and have since gone "well, 2.0 is missing a few features but it's not too bad" and only reverted once it became clear that there was an ongoing bug where users were losing access to owned content on the platform when trying to access their games through 2.0
REQUEST:
Please let me sort my games by purchase date. Buying several games at once means that your new games disappear somewhere in the depths and after a while it is not impossible that I forget I have bought them at all.
I have installed some games on Galaxy 2.0 and noticed that 3 of them sync when you press play, and after you quit the game, it shows that it syncs the game again. So I thought that if something happens and you have to install windows 10 again, you will blissfully be able to continue your games from the point at which you left them. ALAS THAT IS NOT THE CASE ! You have to manually sync your saves on the cloud system ONLY if you press the " EXTRAS " button on the game screen of the client, AND click on the " Game name - Saves backup " option to really save your saved games to the cloud. Luckily I 'm meticulous as if I have the O.C.D. condition and found these facts out BEFORE buying my new PC, which I intend to do in a few days. I ALWAYS saved my game progress on on my USB stick after EVERY session before I discovered this and still do so after finding this option out. So, a HEADS UP warning : If your game says it gets synced, know that IT DOES NOT GET SYNC ON THE CLOUD unless you click on the above mentioned option.
GOG GALAXY 2.0 does not clarify that to a new user that chooses Galaxy for the cloud saving reason as well as other ones. It would be nice if the company responsible for GALAXY 2.0 clarifies this and I 'm lucky for finding this out on my own, or I would get s****d by having to throw tens of hours on " Gothic 3 " progress out of the window for Gog not having clarified the above facts.

Sorry, but I 'm angry because I have been s****d on my PC gaming way too many times to get s****d once more. So, you 'll excuse me if I get angered. Fix this.
As far as I see, it works like this:

1) Press "PLAY": it compares the local saves with the cloud saves.
- If the cloud saves are newer (or if there are no local saves), it copies them locally
- If the local saves are newer (or if there are no cloud saves), it copies them to the cloud

2) Exit game: : it compares the local saves with the cloud saves.
- If the cloud saves are newer (or if there are no local saves), it copies them locally
- If the local saves are newer (or if there are no cloud saves), it copies them to the cloud

Seems working in the right way to me.

I never had to go to EXTRA to save manually on the cloud...
If I start a vanilla game for the first time, and then save and exit, those file are copied in the cloud automatically.
if then I go to the local save folder and delete everything, when I start the game, those file will be downloaded before the game starts.

The only issue you can have, is if you want to manually recover old local saves (maybe from another PC or disk) after maybe having already started a new game from a vanilla installation, with cloud service on.

In that case, the new vanilla saves (in the cloud) are newer than the local ones (that were recovered from the old backup), and will overwrite them.

But the simple solution is:
1) Overwrite your actual local vanilla saves, with your old backup.
2) Change the modified date of ALL those files to the actual time.
3) Start the game.

The sync will see that the local files are newer and will copy them to the cloud.

Is there a place were we report games not on the database and database mistakes etc?

I noticed Civilization II:Test of Time doesn't exists in the database.
It would be nice if the "Recently played by others" section had the option to be hidden, or at least show "Recently played by friends" (since it appears that "Recently played by others" is just everyone, and rarely changes for me. It's been showing FF7 Remake, Mount & Blade II and Animal Crossing for awhile now. My friends are definitely not playing those much anymore if at all.)
I use GoG Galaxy 2.0 for a long time and the client is good, but the only thing that me bothers is the automatic update service from the client. It takes quite a long time for the client to find and install the update.

Can't you create a button that you can check for updates manually?

My current Version was 2.0.15 (6. May) and today i get the 2.0.16 Hotfix.
Ok am gonna ask again.
Is there any place we report about the game database? Like mistakes, games missing etc?

On Mantis I presume.

Press the upper left little icon in Galaxy next to your avatar and select "inform of a problem" Fill it selecting the nature of the problem and a ticket in mantis should be created.
So is the Galaxy team just officially ignoring all forum posts now? Should we just expect that none of the criticism that's been going on for a few months now will never get addressed?

Because if faced with "deal with it or gtfo", then I don't really need GOG nor Galaxy that much. But I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Some of the employees here are active on the gog reddit page. So it would seem they have been told to be quiet on their own forum for some undisclosed reason.
If you can't get your steam account system integration sorted reliably then confirm/announce accordingly. Users are fed up playing around with it

apparently there hasn't been any feedback in months. the only thing i saw was damage control on reddit with postings by "fans" about how great galaxy2 is and the usual promotions on facebook.

the lack of feedback is what makes this desaster so infuriating to me. if there was anything like "ok, the galaxy2 beta isn't running well, we acknowledge this and will adress it with steps xyz" i'd be fine.

but this?

nothing more than a shitshow.
I just download GOG Galaxy 2.0. But, as I read the latest post concern with some issues. Is there anything I need to know about GOG Galaxy 2.0, before I install it?

If you'll just use it for GOG games, it doesn't have issues, except for rare cases.
You'll just have to manually bookmark games and forum pages that you want in the left bar, for easy access.

Preferably, don't install it in "Program Files", but in another custom folder of your choose, so you will never have issues with "Administrator" stuff.

Missing things and issues are mostly these:
- No Forum notifications.
- No TAGs will be imported from your profile, the TAGs created on Galaxy are only on Galaxy.
- Integration with other Store Clients is mostly community driven, so expect a lot of issues, and don't expect fast patches, also almost every Galaxy update will break them anyway.

The most advertised functions on Galaxy are the ones that have the most problems.
