This! Especially games not available on ANY PC platform (eg. The Last of Us 2 - I just spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how people were playing this through GOG to no avail.... got my hopes up!)
3 years passed and nothing changed
Please devs !

Yup, we should be able to disable that section, or at least be able to customize it.
– Only show games from friends
– Only show games from specific platforms
I really don't need to see what people who aren't my friends are playing and I also really don't need to have games advertised to me that are stuck on some console which I don't have. Switch is fine, that can be emulated. But I don't even know how you can show me that people on GOG are playing Switch games when Nintendo has zero API or platform integrations, which must mean that as it stands this entire section is seriously just one big obnoxious advertisement.
I backup this request.
Sadly today I had to uninstall Galaxy 1.0 as it completely stopped connecting to GOG servers, anfd had to install 2.0.
Sadly, Galaxy 2.0 did not get any better since 3 years ago when I tried it first time. It still is eyesore and unusable mess.

Yeah, updates for Galaxy are not as frequent nowadays. The app has potential but needs more attention from GOG. It could be so much better.

I've had no issues with the newest 1.2.X version linked here:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/how_to_keep_galaxy_v12_client_and_avoid_the_forced_v20_beta_update

Maybe try reinstalling that. Using 2.0 isn't worth the troubles it adds to the mix, the previous version is (still) objectively better in several important ways with no room for argument. There are a few cool new features, but in spite of promisees of feature parity, 2.0 is missing basic functionality provided by the old client.

Downloaded galaxy this month and the "recently played by others" really needs to go away.
This was a terrible design decision. Get rid of it.
At least give us an option to remove it.

I'd argue that it's counterproductive as a marketing tool for at least some of your market (including me). Look, I don't really care what other people are playing. Someone I don't know is playing FIFA 22 right now--a game from a genre I never play for a sport I have no interest in. You know what that makes me want to do? It makes me want to close GOG Galaxy.

I haven't played online games for several years now, so I haven't bothered to add friends in GOG. I've set my account so that I'm more difficult to find. I'm completely uninterested in what random people I don't know are playing.

You want to sell me more games? Improve the store. I think it's a pain in the ass both to navigate and to search.
I get the feeling they're not listening., and standards are slipping.

?

"Recently played by others" can be removed for a while now. Not sure if you need to activate the experimental features box in the settings, but there is a customize button on the Galaxy frontpage where you can disable it.

Could it be so, that the main business is no longer in selling games? :/
