can you seriously get rid of the "Recently played by others" add? its pretty annoying to have a page that's supposed to be about recently played games just having a section dedicated to advertising games that I don't even like. and giving me no control over it.
I am pretty sure it's just a placeholder to fill out the empty space before they invent something else to put in there.

Not keen on this either. Much rather something like a "Newest games" or "Unplayed" or some other category.

A list of these "most popular" games is the last thing I want to see on my dashboard

Popularity =/= quality.

If it showed ONLY what my friends have recently played i'd be ok with that. But I don't need to be shown that randos are playing Fortnite and Apex Legends.

I completely agree that listing recently played by others is useless and annoying. And it doesn't even work as possible advertising in my case, because that's not at all how I pick games, and I'll just ignore it.

As another annoyance here, when you resize the window, they favor the "Recently Played by Others" over the "Recently Played be Me", so that you end up with more games showing in the "Recently Played by Others" list. You can get more in "Recently Played by Me" by making the window wider, but they always add more to "Recently Played by Others" first.

However, I would point out that on the top right of both the "Recently Played by Me" and "Recently Played by Others" sections, there are little arrows that you can click to scroll the list left or right. So, while it may not be immediately obvious, you can see more than just 4 or 5 games in each list. So, it's not _quite_ as bad as it first looks, but I really wish that they'd just get rid of the "Others" bit entirely. It's just taking up screen real estate. I don't care what anyone else is playing. And not a one of the games currently showing up in the "Others" list on my PC is even on GoG, so I don't see how it even benefits GoG for it to be there.

I'm really not interested in how popular games like FIFA20 and Fortnite are.

Generally, I use GOG to stay away from DRM-laden, microtransaction-ridden, corporate-sponsored gunk.

I'd like an option to opt-out of the community/discovery aspect of Galaxy or to separate it from my own stuff.

If GoG really wants this, add a Community section and have this in a separate discovery tag. It's very out of place when everything else is on the dashboard is based on my library.

That being said, maybe this is a placeholder until they can get their friends integration working - but it's still kinda out of place with the rest of -my- library.

Sorry, folks. :D

I know I'm in the minority here and I see where you guys are coming from, but I actually like having that 'section'. It allows me to keep track of what's popular these days and not to just get 'stuck' inside my own bubble, you know?

This would be a nice compromise!

This has no relevance or interest to me at all. The need to let us get rid of it.

Yes, please. 100% agreed.

The entire reason why I was interested in GoG Galaxy 2.0 was because Steam has been pushing their community bullshit down our throat on the library front page....

And now you're just doing the same.

Back to playnite for me.
