Daedalic Entertainment and Telltale Games amazing titles up to 85% off!

<i>IMPORTANT UPDATE: We have been notified that Telltale Games' licence to the Wallace and Gromit IP has expired, and therefore the company is unable to keep their [url=http://www.gog.com/game/wallace_gromits_grand_adventures]Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventure title in their offer, for the time being. By extension, we have been asked to remove the game from our catalog, and we are in the process of doing so, and once it's done the game won't be available for purchase anymore. Everyone who has the game in their GOG.com collection by that time, will still be able to download the installer files and bonus content after the removal. The game, however, won't be listed for sale on GOG.com. We apologize for any inconvenience that this situation may have caused you.

Seeing just how popular the genre is becoming with mainstream gamers, it's quite safe to say that adventure games made a comeback and are as prominent a genre as they were in the 80s and 90s. Some of the games are firmly rooted in the point-and-click traditions, other dare to experiment with new sorts of gameplay mechanics, bringing a different experience to adventure game veterans. Let's look at Adventures NOW!--you'll probably agree that the modern state of the genre is actually quite impressive. Some adventure game development and publishing tycoons emerged on the market, providing a steady flow of titles just like in the old days. Today, we start a sale of games coming from two such adventure powerhouses: Telltale Games and Daedalic Entertainment. All the Telltale productions on GOG.com catalog are available 85% off, while the ones coming from Daedalic, come with various discount rates. Sam &amp; Max Save the World for only $4.49, Back to the Future: The Game for only $3.74, Tales of Monkey Island for only $5.24, for only $9.99, [url=http://www.gog.com/game/deponia]Deponia for only $2.99, and more! With 16 games in our offer, this weekend turns to a point-and-click feast.

If you feel like visiting some incredible locations, talking to some original characters, and solving some mind-boggling puzzles, make sure to drop by our Adventures NOW! promo page, and pick your favorites from our vast offer. You have time until Tuesday, January 14, at 4:59AM GMT to get them up to 85% off, so don't miss out. Adventure awaits!

JudasIscariot: It should still be up there, just that it can't be monetized but let's not get into that and derail the thread :)

evilnancyreagan: eh, so that's how it works then? good to know, still a damn shame about This Week On GOG though.

I'll definitely have to check some of them out then, lord knows that if I were to actually play any of these games - I would just simply cheat, cheeze and wiki my way through the damned things and where's the fun in that?
Actually, I tried that years ago with Sam and Max: Hit the Road, and I STILL could not beat it. It is an amazing game, and very free of bugs, but I did one step wrong, and it still got me. lol.
This is a great promo! I just picked up Back to the Future, and I'm downloading it now. I've been wanting to play this game for awhile and this is a great deal. I'm glad to get this game DRM-Free, and I hope GOG is able to continue to get more Telltale releases.

Niggles: Couple of things, are the copies of Tales of Monkey Island direct from Telltale drm free? (silly question but had to ask as i have all five sitting on there unused all this time)
The disc versions from them are (baring wallace and gromit) but the downloadable versions use I think some version of securom (no limited activations, just checks to see if the game is with your telltale account)

No, they are not DRM free on the Telltale store. They need to be activated online.

Niggles: Is reason Sam and Max Hit the Road isnt on GOG because they are Lucasarts?
Yes.
I have a problem with conflicting sales prices from different places in the gog.com site.
I saw in your "Latest headlines" section, it says "85% off" :/ I was very happy... then when I got to the promo page, I saw the some items were not 85% off.
What gives?

Could you guys change your "Latest headlines" info to say "up to 85% off" instead of "85% off".

You probably have to make more images, not difficult at all. I kind of feel misslead there, hehe.
Nice. Got me-self the Dark Eye Adventures.
Aww, I enjoy the older ones much more for the most part. The Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, and Quantic Dream's instant classics are the only ones I would call truly brilliant that are from any recent year. Of course they still don't make nearly as many as they used to, generic action game sequels have seen to that.
Nice promo, some good adventure games in there.

Dear lord! Dark Horse has taken a shinning to video games lately, perhaps they'll be inspired to undigitalize some of the adventure classics with a pen and ink treatment. I'd be tickled pink at the opportunity to enjoy Deponia in a graphic novel format. c'mon, paper is like the new vinyl!

I got Sam & Max Save the World in one of my surprise boxes during the Winter sale for around $4, so now I'm picking up the other two Sam & Max games (or really, other ten? Kind of.)

I already have The Whispered World, Deponia, Deponia 2, The Dark Eye, A New Beginning, The Night of the Rabbit, and Edna and Harvey from GOG, Gomo on Steam (review copy), and as for Tales of Monkey Island, I have the collector edition chest. :D I got the games digitally for $5 (total!) on Talk Like a Pirate Day years ago, then sent away for the collector's edition later since it was so cheap.

Just out of curiosity. How many did you play and which ones were the best?
I wish GoG provided Mac versions for "Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space" (season 2) and "Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse" (season 3), since you can get Mac versions of them at Telltale's site or Steam. I already got season 3 from a Humble Bundle, so I'm deciding if I buy seasons 1 and 2 in the hope that GoG will provide the Mac version of season 2 in the future, and that season 1 runs ok on Wine.

BloodMist: Quantic Dream's instant classics
Aw come on, Heavy Rain was so broken in terms of logic...
Ok, let's talk Monkey Island here...

Are there any action sequences, or is everything dialog- and puzzle-based?
Are there numerous ways to die?
Is it possible to paint myself into a corner through my choices?

I played the original series and would love it if the new series stayed true to the originals.
Got a whole pack except Deponia 2 & 3, Gomo and Night of the Rabbit! Woo-hoo!!!
