Daedalic Entertainment and Telltale Games amazing titles up to 85% off!

<i>IMPORTANT UPDATE: We have been notified that Telltale Games' licence to the Wallace and Gromit IP has expired, and therefore the company is unable to keep their [url=http://www.gog.com/game/wallace_gromits_grand_adventures]Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventure title in their offer, for the time being. By extension, we have been asked to remove the game from our catalog, and we are in the process of doing so, and once it's done the game won't be available for purchase anymore. Everyone who has the game in their GOG.com collection by that time, will still be able to download the installer files and bonus content after the removal. The game, however, won't be listed for sale on GOG.com. We apologize for any inconvenience that this situation may have caused you.

Seeing just how popular the genre is becoming with mainstream gamers, it's quite safe to say that adventure games made a comeback and are as prominent a genre as they were in the 80s and 90s. Some of the games are firmly rooted in the point-and-click traditions, other dare to experiment with new sorts of gameplay mechanics, bringing a different experience to adventure game veterans. Let's look at Adventures NOW!--you'll probably agree that the modern state of the genre is actually quite impressive. Some adventure game development and publishing tycoons emerged on the market, providing a steady flow of titles just like in the old days. Today, we start a sale of games coming from two such adventure powerhouses: Telltale Games and Daedalic Entertainment. All the Telltale productions on GOG.com catalog are available 85% off, while the ones coming from Daedalic, come with various discount rates. Sam &amp; Max Save the World for only $4.49, Back to the Future: The Game for only $3.74, Tales of Monkey Island for only $5.24, for only $9.99, [url=http://www.gog.com/game/deponia]Deponia for only $2.99, and more! With 16 games in our offer, this weekend turns to a point-and-click feast.

If you feel like visiting some incredible locations, talking to some original characters, and solving some mind-boggling puzzles, make sure to drop by our Adventures NOW! promo page, and pick your favorites from our vast offer. You have time until Tuesday, January 14, at 4:59AM GMT to get them up to 85% off, so don't miss out. Adventure awaits!

Edmund: Question: I had my eye on Chains of Satinav for quite a while now, I love RPG's and enjoyed the Drakensung games immensely. (Wich you can get DRM free on DVD, hint to GOG). Is there any simalarities between Chains of Satinav and Drakensung, not gameplay, but atmosphere, characters or setting.

I enjoy Adventure games with good stories aswell, but newest one I played is Longest Journey.

JudasIscariot: I know that both Drakensang and Memoria/Chains of Satinav are set in the same universe The Dark Eye but I don't think they share any characters between them, though :)
They don't, except for some reverences to the Gods, which I found a bit of a pity. It's still a good game though.
A New Beginning is finally mine ! Good thing for starting the weekend :-D
Nice, my favorite genre point-and-click. Must check Dark Eye gameplay, how great game is, rating seems good.
Holy shit, I don't have any of these. Maybe that's because I'm terrible at them. :P Still, very nice promo.
Nothing I want from here.
Point and click adventures....on sale.....must buy!!
I enjoy adventure games, but I haven't played a single one on this list. Are any of those must-haves?

I plan to check their reviews as well, just wondering if there's anything I should make sure not to miss.
I personally dislike the Daedelic Entertainment games, but this action is tremendous. Steep prices had prevented me from going for the Telltale games but no more! Sam and Max, get ready cause I'm coming!

Kunovski: it's 2,99 so you should really try :) don't expect TLJ (not many adventure games can compete with it in terms of story and atmosphere) but Chains of Satinav have a good story, look beautiful, and... just buy it :o)
Thanks, I'll buy It when I get home, and if I like it I'll buy Memoria when my gaming budget allows

The best title in the pack seems Deponia, but I'll check Whispered World and Memoria too.

About Memoria, however, do I need to play Chains of Satinav for the story? Does it end properly or does it need another sequel?

You can play Memoria without playing CoS but there are a few references that you might not get if you don't play the first game :) This is mostly on Geron's side of the story, the story concerning the princess is new :)

Hmmm, I'm really tempted to pick up Memoria to complete my Dark Eye collection (though haven't had time to go through CoS yet xD). Good timing (i guess?) since the Realms of Arkania games that have been on here forever just got onto steam xD.
Any chance we could get an Enigmatic Hint in text form, now? :)
Damn GOG :) Lot of interesting and wishilited games, like Deponia and New Beginning, and my paypal account is dry. That make me little sad. Your fault GOG that didn't warn few days earlier ^^.
Picked up the Sam & Max games. =)
