Daedalic Entertainment and Telltale Games amazing titles up to 85% off!

<i>IMPORTANT UPDATE: We have been notified that Telltale Games' licence to the Wallace and Gromit IP has expired, and therefore the company is unable to keep their [url=http://www.gog.com/game/wallace_gromits_grand_adventures]Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventure title in their offer, for the time being. By extension, we have been asked to remove the game from our catalog, and we are in the process of doing so, and once it's done the game won't be available for purchase anymore. Everyone who has the game in their GOG.com collection by that time, will still be able to download the installer files and bonus content after the removal. The game, however, won't be listed for sale on GOG.com. We apologize for any inconvenience that this situation may have caused you.

Seeing just how popular the genre is becoming with mainstream gamers, it's quite safe to say that adventure games made a comeback and are as prominent a genre as they were in the 80s and 90s. Some of the games are firmly rooted in the point-and-click traditions, other dare to experiment with new sorts of gameplay mechanics, bringing a different experience to adventure game veterans. Let's look at Adventures NOW!--you'll probably agree that the modern state of the genre is actually quite impressive. Some adventure game development and publishing tycoons emerged on the market, providing a steady flow of titles just like in the old days. Today, we start a sale of games coming from two such adventure powerhouses: Telltale Games and Daedalic Entertainment. All the Telltale productions on GOG.com catalog are available 85% off, while the ones coming from Daedalic, come with various discount rates. Sam &amp; Max Save the World for only $4.49, Back to the Future: The Game for only $3.74, Tales of Monkey Island for only $5.24, for only $9.99, [url=http://www.gog.com/game/deponia]Deponia for only $2.99, and more! With 16 games in our offer, this weekend turns to a point-and-click feast.

If you feel like visiting some incredible locations, talking to some original characters, and solving some mind-boggling puzzles, make sure to drop by our Adventures NOW! promo page, and pick your favorites from our vast offer. You have time until Tuesday, January 14, at 4:59AM GMT to get them up to 85% off, so don't miss out. Adventure awaits!
I couldn't resist to The Dark Eye...

Zacron: Youtube Longplays?

evilnancyreagan: there's a thought!

but, with all of youtube's recent 'improvements' I doubt that sort of content would stay up for very long anymore
It should still be up there, just that it can't be monetized but let's not get into that and derail the thread :)
I wish GOG would write down for each title the discount. Deponia 3 is like 30% only and you have to do the math yourself to find that out. I'm a lazy customer and could use that service. :)

eh, so that's how it works then? good to know, still a damn shame about This Week On GOG though.

I'll definitely have to check some of them out then, lord knows that if I were to actually play any of these games - I would just simply cheat, cheeze and wiki my way through the damned things and where's the fun in that?

I'll have to agree, otherwise it feels a bit like the workarounds at the store how the front of a bottle of juice could say '100% natural fruit juice' yet on the side it's like 17 percent grape juice; They can get away with it because it 'contains some juice'.

coffeecup: I'd buy my missing Daedalic adventure if not only they would omit German Text and audio deliberately.

I already own - for example - Goodbye Deponia boxed and on steam, but I prefer GOG....

lugum: Whispered world and the other deponias got german added, i am sure it would be a matter of time with deponia 3.
I don't think so that Daedalic will add the German audio files in the near or intermediate future here.

coffeecup: Not really.. there is some beef between GOG and Daedalic because there are other retailer (and Daedalic itself) where the game is cheaper and with all languages support. The company itself has stated that they were pressured by their financiers to do such stuff, but Goodbye Deponia (and Memoria) is self-funded and now there is really no excuse not to include the German language.

In addition Daedalic has already more or less abandoned the support for the games up to Chaos on Deponia where the most recent (steam) patch has introduced a sound glitch which has not been addressed since October. A new Beginning has also some serious bugs until now, you have to playthrough the last two chapters of the game without saving 'cause the savegame function does not work there anymore.

Quite ironic, especially that Daedalic is a German company...
But they changed to add some german versions recently there is no saying they wont ever do that with deponia 3.

The Gog version of A new beginning? Not that i played the GOG version but never had any bugs like that.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Fortunately, someone in the forums normally does it, if GOG does not.

I have both Steam and GOG versions and both exhibit the same bug.

To get back ... the Telltale games are a steal, if you don't have them already :)

Weird, i played the (original) german version maybe that's the difference.
All i remember were some weird translation parts.
It's a shame some criticize the Daedelic games, they are really fun if you love point and click adventures.
Personally i dont have any of the telltale games and without a job still i have to pass for now, but yeah they are a good steal for that price.

Great sale. I've been interested in the Sam & Max games, but the price has kept me away from them until now.
Very informative, but if you don't go to the forums you might not see this, especially new-comers.

Maybe... something like this?

Absolutely fantastic deal here. Managed to get the first season of Sam and Max for an insanely good price during the holiday sale, and now there's seasons 2 and 3 for 85 frigging percent off, along with Deponia just to give the series a whirl. Nearly gave myself whiplash clicking the checkout button at high speed.
Couple of things, are the copies of Tales of Monkey Island direct from Telltale drm free? (silly question but had to ask as i have all five sitting on there unused all this time)
Is reason Sam and Max Hit the Road isnt on GOG because they are Lucasarts?
