A Fighting Fantasy adventure from the mind of Ian Livingstone.

Deathtrap Dungeon, a challenging action game based on the best-selling Fighting Fantasy gamebook by Ian Livingstone, in which you venture into the most dangerous place in the whole realm in search of fame and fortune, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99

Hear me, hear me! The distinguished Baron Sukumvit, glorious regent of the city of Fang, protector of the people, defender of no crown, bane of all who dare oppose order, challenges all brave men and women to enter his famous Deathtrap Dungeon! Anyone bold enough to accept this challenge and amuse his Lordship and his noble guests by fighting the demonic deadly denizens of the dungeon, may apply to enter the contest at the city guard office. The challenger who survives all the levels of His Lordship's playground and slays the fierce red dragon Melkor residing in the final chamber, will receive a royal price of no less than 10 000 golden coins and will be allowed to the Fang's throne. So sayeth our beloved ruler, Baron Sukumvit. Hear me, hear me!

Deathtrap Dungeon is a third-person perspective action game that puts you in the middle of a monster-infested, trap-filled maze created with the sole purpose of torturing adventurers for the amusement of nobility. As the brave warrior Bandog, or Red Lotos the fierce Amazon, you will fight a variety of over 50 monsters with your vast selection of fantastic weaponry and magic spells. You'll be also solving various puzzles in order to continue your journey into the depths of the maze, where your ultimate enemy awaits. Based on the popular Fighting Fantasy gamebook by Ian Livingstone, Deathtrap Dungeon presents an unprecedented challenge and rewarding gameplay, while fulfilling this story's destiny which has always been becoming a video game!

Accept the Baron's challenge and, keeping in mind the gold and power that can be yours, boldly step into the ominous Deathtrap Dungeon, for a small entry fee of only $5.99 on GOG.com.

Crosmando: Hmmmm, never heard of it but Squeenix published some decent stuff in the late 90's so I might try.

I hope the rest of October picks up tho
I think it was Eidos at the time, remember them?
Never heard of it.

JMich: Don't forget about Reus.
Off to update the wiki.
Sweet. I keep hearing about this on RPS and it looks interesting.

Roman5: Not bad but my mind is not blown yet
Very much disappointed. This does seem llke a crappy mindless hackn slash game. Only without pretty graphics and good loot i guess.

I dont think our mind will be blown soon. GOG teased us many times before but couldnt deliver what was promised.

Yeah sorry, for some reason I thought Square Enix owned Eidos back then, must have got it mixed up

F4LL0UT: F*** YEAH! Have been waiting for this one ever since I joined GOG. With Severance and Die by the Sword already being here we only need Dark Vengeance and Nightmare Creatures to complete the collection of oldschool PC fantasy slasher games now.
Ashgan the Dragonslayer and Excalibur 2555 AD? On second thought.. no, rather not. Do we have Drakan? Drakan would be awesome.
I alway wanted to play this game even though i read some not all that positive critics.

tburger: Is this the 'mind-blowing' release G-Doc mentioned?
This is a title that comes with many, many good memories.
One of the ones that I was personally excited about.

As for "mind-blowing", I got a bit to personal with you guys. Here's some explanation.

I think it's more a case of "the community takes casual remarks from bluetexts far too seriously", otherwise known as "wishful thinking".

Sometimes the community behaves like 13-year old experiencing his first crush. "She looked at my direction, so she must be deeply in love with me!" ;)

Hey GOG, you guys really ought to finish off the Wing Commander series by putting Armada and Prophecy, preferably while doing a big sale of the whole series.

Also CyberMage is also a decent Origin Systems game

There was also Privateer 2, Academy, and Secret Ops too.
My mind has been blown because I didn't expect a pre-2000 release. I never heard of this game and searching about it I couldn't find anything that would compel me to play it, but I'm happy whenever GOG releases old games.

sometimes I feel like we suck
I remember playing a demo of this on PSone. It's pretty decent, I was mostly impressed by how violent it was. I'll definitely get it later.
