HijacK: Damn edit elves! They promised me a pot of gold! But they said something about the end of a rainbow, which is BS since the specter of a rainbow is actually a circle, which basically is an endless loop. THERE IS NO GOLD! THE GOLD IS A LIE!
Maybe JMich is hoarding all the gold, he has only posted once. Must have found it and headed for the hills!

I'm suspecting JMich might be an elven werewolf.

Sage103082: Also in reference to Krypsyn and the RVS. This stage is the hardest for me. I hate to point fingers randomly without any ideas or hints as to who to vote for.
Indeed. I also find it difficult to ignore the consequences of this decision. Whoever is chosen will leave the game at an early stage.

But I guess that's what we signed for.

For lack of anything more substantial, I am inclined to vote against those that seem to have been more aggressive in accusing others, which I believe were HijacK and SentinelWolf. I will pick the latter merely because it seems more fruitful to cast the second stone than the first.

Vote: SentinelWolf

*notes to keep an eye on mrkgnao*

Sorry to disappoint you, but the pot was not gold, it was silver. Thus the reason I'm hoarding it.

RVS is the stage I hate the most, since most of the votes can be defended with a "It was an RVS vote, no reason to take it seriously". So I usually take my time, then jump on anything that stands out to me. With so many new players this round though, it does make it a bit harder to find something that stands out.
I think JMich's reason for absence was the same for me: we went on a trip to Europe. Of course we could be night owls, but I can assure you, we're not ;)

On the other hand someone's trying a bit too hard to look like the innocent guy who doesn't know anything about the game so:

Unvote mrkgnao
Vote GreenDigitalWolf

Now would you be hoarding the silver as it is dangerous to werewolves? ;-)

Well played, sir. Well played.

On another note: I would be disappointed if JMich wasn't a detective as his job. :D

If I may be so bold, I volunteer to be IAmSinistar for a day and make a list of who's new and who's not. I believe it's

Old timers: JMich, RWarehall, Krypsyn
First timers: HijacK, trentonlf, Sage103082, budejovice, mrkgnao, SentinelWolf, popperik, GreenDigitalWolf

I'm not sure about everyone, so please correct me.

Any idea why this game has attracted so many new faces?

For me it was the interest of trying a new style of game, plus it said it would be about werewolves and who doesn't want to play a game with werewolves lol

For myself, I can say that I had noticed Mafia threads before, but have never come across a Mafia invitation prior to this one. Probably because I hadn't been as active in reading threads as I have been in these past 3-4 months. Or was this invitation different somehow?

One more newbie question: I see occasional references in past Mafia games to "quicktopic" (some kind of private thread?). What exactly is that?

Also, what it the "dead thread"?

I happened to be in the right place at the right time to see the sign-up thread. When I read the sign up thread I really liked the concept and the face it was not overly complicated. Being new to the game it seemed like I could join and play without to much knowledge into mafia games. I did see the Mafia thread but before the sign up, I have to admit I never open them. I think partially the fact I thought it was some type of forum group that that hung out together and I had no idea it was a game. (I hope that makes sense) I also find the concept of werewolves compared to scum more fun.

avatar
Krypsyn: Yeah, some people hate it, some people love it, very few are indifferent. I like having an excuse to be ridiculous, so I quite enjoy it. :)

avatar
GreenDigitalWolf: Is there really a way to know the plans of someone or you just have to guess? Because you could go forever thinking like this: "but that's just what he wants me to think, so I'll do the opposite…but maybe that's what he want's me to think…so I'll not do the opposite…but maybe that's what he want's me to think…"
avatar
Krypsyn: That is the whole game. The set up, no matter if the game is Werewolf, Mafia, or some other name, is to pit an ignorant majority ("villagers" in this game, aka "town") against a knowledgeable minority ("werewolves" in this game, aka "scum")). The scum knows who their scumbuddies are, and thus know who is town, at the start. Town has to guess who is scum by their actions, and hopefully lynch them.

For instance, your question above is implicitly a villager expressing ignorance. Are you really asking, or are you a werewolf acting ignorant to curry favor? I have my own theory, as I am sure everyone else reading what you wrote has. It is how the game works. :)
But the decision is random, isn't it? There's not really a way to lean towards a direction between "he wants me to think that, so I'll do the opposite" and "but maybe he wants me to do the opposite, so I won't do it"
