JudasIscariot: Is there not a board somewhere on the net where you (general you, not singling out OP)can discuss politics?

Not trying to be rude, but just about every political or hot button issue thread tends to devolve to the point where people are slinging mud at each other by about, oh..., page 5 or so and then I get concerned PMs from people asking me to close the thread...

Again, not trying to be rude, just seen this happen one too many times.

If gog.com wants to steer off-topic discussion, there is the concept of moderation. It was done once, or not?

And you tell them no, that that's the point of a thread titled "Controversial". It contains controversy in a single place that can be easily avoided by anyone that doesn't care to take a dip in the sewage.

I don't "hate your pro-homo stance" (if I think I know what you mean by this...) so I am not sure where you got THAT from O.o

As for steering conversation, it would be best for divisive topics, such as politics, to be discussed at the right time and the right place.

I am a Witcher fan, and rate the combat innovation as well as Hawke having a personality with DA2. One of the best innovations for PC gaming, really, recently, both!

But unless you seriously de-read my posts, you must know I cannot ever play TW2 again - because of Detmold. And I am a Witcher fan, only I think you should be inclusive. You have a lot of fans. And some of those care a bit more, but all should be welcome, really!

I actually really like Shamus Young's stance on discussing religion, politics, and related emotional-powderkeg topics on his blog. When he started a forum for his site a few years ago, he even set aside a nice little section for such posts.
Hint: This is the only place to talk [politics/religion], and NOBODY is allowed to post here.
Admittedly, this wouldn't work for every site, though, and the larger community, the more problems you'd have enforcing such a mandate. Still, though, his Twenty Sided blog has the lowest Internet-asshole-to-normal-reasonable-person ratio I've yet come across in an online community.

See below Judasiscariot. I have no doubt Dethmold was ill written, but at least I care.

And what bothers me maybe more than "Dethmold" is the fact that actual human beings thought that this characterisation was okei. Pimple popping, slave raping and all that.

But may I ask - how the heck do you pick your fights? And claim you to be fair, in any way?
