We would like to inform you that, due to our storage and CDN provider's outage, we are encountering technical issues that may cause difficulties in downloading and updating your games both through the GOG GALAXY client and GOG Store. Already downloaded files are in no way affected.

We are trying to mitigate this external problem by switching to our secondary storage while our provider is restoring data. We would also like to highlight that those issues do not affect purchasing games. Currently available discounts on selected titles will not be extended due to the above.

It is our team's top priority to resolve those issues and we aim to resolve them as fast as possible. Apologies for any inconveniences caused.

Jawzper: Stuck on 92% for BG3... just want to say I persuaded my friends to try GoG for this game and they are having the same issue. Their solution is to refund, go back to Steam and they will probably never try to use GoG again after this. So good job losing customers, I guess.
Man, so sorry for you guys, same happened to me and this forum saved me a lot!

Has anybody got any solutions for Baldur's Gate 3 offline backup installer download failed!? I've been trying to install and download this game since August 3rd and nothing is f****** working I've been in contact with the company over and over and over again and everything they say does not work I have literally f****** scorched Earth nuked my computer so it was completely clean and I'm still getting errors and I am getting close to asking GOG for a refund even though I played Early Access but when I was playing Early Access I had it installed on a non-solid state drive and I never once had a crash or had problems installing it so I can buy it on Steam and hopefully it works there cuz this is just complete BS! I have never had such a problem with any game I've downloaded or played and I've been gaming for over 35 years!

Caban: Not really. If you have Galaxy installed and set up Galaxy overlay to be present in games it doesn't matter if game was installed from standalone installer. Galaxy gonna open anyway.
avatar
MarkoH01: That is news to me. If Galaxy is closed and you start the game directly from the execiutable Galaxy won't get started. Galaxy only starts if you use ome of those special shortcuts that GOG creates when they install a game with Galaxy or if you launch it yourself.
Just happened across your post (don't ask!) in a long solved thread, but I think I should mention there is one more situation where Galaxy springs up when you're least expecting.

Suppose you have Galaxy installed and it is not running (in a Windows machine, at least. I can't say the same is true in a Mac). Suppose you download an offline installer and well, installs it. At the end of the process the installer asks if you want to close or launch the game. If you choose to launch it will summon Galaxy to life before opening the game.

Other than that you're correct in my experience. Caban must have been mistaken.

You haven't mentioned what the problem is and what you've already tried. Go to the Baldur's Gate 3 download stuck thread and if none of the suggestions there are helpful, reply there with some details about the issue.

Yes, agreed, unfortunately that is a bug that they's never corrected. Maybe because they would have to change every offline installer available to change this.
Folks, looking at GOGdb, My Cat Girl Lover and Starshifter were fixed today. It is safe to assume the issues have officially ended.

GOG.com, chandra, Clownski_ why have you abandoned us? This is bad service! The customers shall be informed when the technical issues arrived, resolved and on the overall state of this deeply flawed infrastructure. Treat the customers well, otherwise you'll lose money when they may turn to piracy or go back to some small alternative DRM Free stores or the biggest gaming store on the planet that I don't even need to name.

I think that's the intended behavior. It's not a bug (in Gog's eyes), it's a feature!
Hell if I know why they would think that but the process of putting the offline installer together doesn't need to involve any references to Galaxy, so the fact it does makes me think it is deliberate.

Assuming they wanted to remove this "feature": sure there would be a lot of installers to replace, but it's not like there is any rush to replace the lot. Just by the regular course of every new version substituting the previous most installers would get fixed in a couple years. And if it stops at that and a (estimate pulled out of my arse) 30% installers that never see updates continue with that bug it's still much better than EVERY single ONE of them being bugged.

Aug 2023? You seem to be using an alt account. Hmmm

tfishell: Aug 2023? You seem to be using an alt account. Hmmm
You seem to mistakenly think that:
1. Off-topic is a "wonderful" idea, let's judge a book by its cover;
2. Every single person from the same month is an "alt" all the time;
3. Nobody loses their main account irreversibly, and if they did they must suffer and die;
4. Nobody can gain any knowledge from outsider accountless observation;
5. "Alt" is always "hmmm-hmmm evil" and the suspicion autoinvalidates their statements;
6. Deliberately harassing new users and/or gatekeeping is "great" for the forum;
7. Every person registered many-many months ago is golden.

An unfounded allegation once again, I was required to scroll to Page 51 in trying to make some sense of. While I am unfamiliar with "reeexium," the presence of "ABitAlarmed" is visible in history, I read it. Appears like maliciously believe that every person from August 2023 is one person, figuratively every single person who likes Tesla cars is Elon Musk to you, or that a heartless attack by spreading disinformation could undermine the validity of my statements.

People, please refrain from engaging in this morally bankrupt activity. If you have topic-relevant thoughts or comments to civilly contribute on the GOG technical issues being discussed, do so; Otherwise do keep the delusions (if any) to yourself because this is toxic, dishonourable, and it is harassment.

Let's help with the numbers, shall we? The quick findings (GOGdb, 1 year):
1. Out of 3,935 products, 3,419 had no updates (86.89%);
2. 2,832 updates in total for 516 products ("Tunguska: The Visitation" is #1);
3. The median and average number of updates is 13, the maximum is 64.
4. 14 days had no updates at all.

What is the conclusion? "The regular course" might not work. Fortunately GOG itself is capable to push additional 51 updates per day, 3 months (or less) for a full refresh of everything at hand. The bug can be fixed.

Has this problem been fixed completely?

goatentine: Has this problem been fixed completely?
Hypothetically. I'd check the GOGDB to be double sure.
It’s September 4th 2023 and this problem has STILL gone unfixed! What is being done and how much longer do we have to wait?!
