The sights and sounds of The Witcher

Our friends at CD PROJEKT RED have just released a brand new trailer for the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt showcasing the unique universe that you're about to set foot in.

Set in a world where dark, gritty fantasy meets Slavic lore and story telling - the morally grey universe of The Witcher has always been half of the series' success. This newest trailer is about introducing you to that beautiful, but troubled land. You'll get a feel for the absolute scale and detail of the world that you'll be exploring - the openness, the choices, the consequences, and the freedom to influence a world that may not even be worth saving.

But you're not here to read about it, are you? Let's watch.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is just over a month away, and you can pre-order the game right now - it's a particularly great deal if you own the previous Witcher games and take advantage of the additional fan discount. CD PROJEKT RED have also just announced the Expansion Pass with 30 more hours of finely crafted content to be released in the following months.

I uh... orgasm'd.
It does look good, but as others have said there isn't much in the way of gameplay footage.

fronzelneekburm: I'm afraid i haven't, since you guys don't host your videos on your own site, but instead opted to use a website that is not accessible in a country of 1.3 billion people. :P
Its also not accessible from my country of over 188 million people. ;)

Nah, you guys shouldn't worry about demographic issues: there's always more land becoming available everyday in Pakistan :P
I'm really looking forward to it hoping it is that good.

However I would avoid overhyping the game. That will only lead, legitimately, to requiring an even higher quality and polishing: every issue, oversight, bug, will count as a failure as it should.
The game has already:
- regional pricing: it cannot be perfect to begin with and won't hold confrontation with games without regional pricing
- preorder comics that has drm, on gog (that still refuse to address and propertly communicate that)
- bad marketed "free" dlcs: they legitimately let you think that you are trying to deceive your customers
- two expansions with length comparable to the main game, that make you question how the game length is actually computed and perceived. You could also preorder them (with an aggressive ad campaign) without knowing how the game is in that regard.
Those are already a concern for many.
Seriously, where did people see this was supposed to be a *gameplay* trailer?! CD Projekt already released a gameplay trailer for The Wild Hunt, this was supposed to be an introduction trailer, one to show fans and potential customers the basics of the lore, the characters, the open world, some of the tactics and mechanics, what you are able to do in the world, etc.

I didn't find a single mention on GOG's part of this being a gameplay trailer, I guess that some people only like to complain for complaining's sake...

As for the trailer itself: amazeballs as usual, it's a shame I don't have a good enough machine to run the game, but I'll eventually buy it as soon as I upgrade my computer. Plus, I'm considering gifting it to my girlfriend, who is a fan of The Witcher series, and her PC definitely runs the game. :P
I'll be honest, I was on the fence about TW3, not sure if I was interested. After seeing this trailer, I have to say, I'm REALLY interested. I doubt it'll be a day-one purchase, but for sure when I get some extra scratch. Game looks awesome!

(Now I need to go back and finish the 1st two)
Oh boy, That's it.

I'm so gonna pick this and the expansions up before release day!

GTA 5 trailer's poor cousin?

Does your PR staff do anything else than copying other people's ideas?
Absolutely wonderful trailer, the gameplay elements look amazing and the sense of humor is intact in the dialogue similar to the previous games. I hope the combat is as satisfying as it looks in all the trailers so far. Still waiting to see some keyboard and mouse controlled gameplay footage as most of the fans of the series are PC gamers.

Damn, now I'm curious what the quote said before you edited it. :P

fronzelneekburm: I was talking to another user about the importance of front page exposure in that other Witcher thread. Now I wonder whether there's such a thing as front page OVERexposure...

But here's a bit of constructive criticism:

Why not using your own video player?!
Amazing trailer, got me quite hyped!
I'm pretty happy of my preorder, I just hope I'll be able to run it decently :)
