The sights and sounds of The Witcher

Our friends at CD PROJEKT RED have just released a brand new trailer for the upcoming <span class="bold">The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt</span> showcasing the unique universe that you're about to set foot in.

Set in a world where dark, gritty fantasy meets Slavic lore and story telling - the morally grey universe of The Witcher has always been half of the series' success. This newest trailer is about introducing you to that beautiful, but troubled land. You'll get a feel for the absolute scale and detail of the world that you'll be exploring - the openness, the choices, the consequences, and the freedom to influence a world that may not even be worth saving.

But you're not here to read about it, are you? Let's watch.

b) my laptop will not handle The Witcher 3..

bigsilverhotdog: Isn't this a gameplay trailer? Where's the gameplay? All I saw was 4 minutes of quick cuts and voiceover hype. Sure, it shows some gameplay scenes, but never more than a couple seconds at a time. To me, that shows more of what you have to hide than what you have to brag about. Glad I cancelled my pre-order.
But a trailer IS quick cuts and voiceover hype.

A gameplay trailer simply uses gameplay material and hypes you up for gameplay - so it shows off combat, mechanics, skills, enemies, maybe some form of level progression, depending on the game, but it's not the same thing as gameplay footage, which is more of a straight playthrough.

At least that's how I always understood trailers.

I was talking to another user about the importance of front page exposure in that other Witcher thread. Now I wonder whether there's such a thing as front page OVERexposure...


But here's a bit of constructive criticism:

It´s beyond my comprehension there´s comments as "glad I canceled preorder" right after this trailer.
Each news I get from it, they confirm is the game I´ve been expecting for a long time. yay ^^
