Neilk40: Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 Enhanced Editions worth getting if you have the originals?
avatar
timppu: If you play on a laptop that might overheat easily, and/or want to save on your electricity bills... maybe. The Enhanced Editions seem to be more energy-efficient than the old versions, so to speak.

Ok thanks, any other reasons for buying the BG 1/2 Enhanced Editions if you own the originals?

armedready: Another sale so soon. Couldn't you guys wait until we get our Christmas money first lol.

I just got a 4000xp at the start is this a mistake or just a thanks for being here.
Did you buy games during the fall sale? Because this is the reason why many of us got some extra xp. It should also say so right above the unlockable games

Edit: The amount of xp can vary though and seems to depend on the amount of money spent last time. I got 1000, others 500, or 3000.

Funny, NWN Diamond shows up in the front page discounted games list at 60% off... Thinking of how that may have happened, programming-wise, makes me wonder if it's a mixup between the 60% base discount for the D&D RPG bundle that's there in wait to be reactivated later during the sale, and in which it's still included, and the 100% current discount, making the system see it as currently discounted (by 100%) and therefore add it there but look in another field for the discount to display, hence that base bundle one.

Anyway, I finally managed to finish HotU earlier this year, after starting it in 2010, if not even earlier. Sort of poking at Kingmaker now, but that's putting it very generously, barely played maybe 30 minutes in a month or so I guess. But anyway, thanks for this, will sure come in handy in case I'll want/need to reinstall it, since I don't even have an optical drive connected now, so while the Diamond Edition was DRM-free on disk too, installing it again would otherwise require taking apart my computer to plug something in.

Otherwise, really didn't expect this coming so soon. Quite crazy really. Was thinking next week at the earliest, if not even the week after that.
GOG, you are determined to make me a pauper.

Yes The witness & in cold blood got a 3000 boost (ignore the 4000 my mistake) the total cost £21.68 hope it helps to solving the Mystery.
I like the freebi for those that don't yet have it, and discounts on the various games here. However it does feel like we are in constant sale mode.

Part of me just wants GOG to take a break for a month or two without anything major like this. I know I'd appreciate them more if such sales were rarer. Wouldn't think it is also good for devs to see us more conditioned to constant sales.
Will there be new games added to the sale daily, like with the previous sales?
oh FFS..i forgot about this coming..

IFW: Will there be new games added to the sale daily, like with the previous sales?
New deals arrive every 24 hours and they are added to the ones already there. Save for a few exceptions, once a deal is made available, it stays available for the entire duration of The Monstrous Winter Sale.
Add me to sale fatigue, and it's not just that it's so many of the same games at the same price, but it really kills release rates. I understand why no developers want to be drowned out by 5* pages of games on sale at the top.

Yes GOG that needs to be fixed.

* justed checked 13 page downs to get to see the news section.

Damn it, GOG. We need time between sales.

gibbeynator: Hey, remember when GOG reps said that constant sales were bad for consumers?
A GOG rep said constant sales were bad for the market and therefore consumers (fans), HOWEVER, since they couldn't possibly control the market, they had to follow suit, perhaps unfortunately. No hypocrisy.

Furthermore, it doesn't mean other GOG reps and employees share this opinion, and it doesn't mean even those who do have to announce sales in a passive-aggressive way ("you forced us into this, we hope your motherboards catch fire").
More (finished) games, not more sales! :|
Neverwinter Nights - Diamond doesn't show up in my list of games.

It says I got it and to enjoy, but doesn't show in my list anywhere. It's not a big loss for me, I do have all the original copies of the Neverwinter Nights games on disc, I'd just like to have an easy way to install them.
Aww, I was hoping to see something other than sale everyone and their moms knew was coming from the countdown. Like the elusive non CDPR DRM free AAA title CDProject mentioned in their future strategy presentation. :-/

Also won't be getting money until two weeks from now so I can only look not buy.
