Ready to play dirty?

Gremlins, Inc., a fierce digital board game where you must outmanoeuvre other gremlin businessmen at every turn, is now available on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

This is a gremlin eat gremlin world of ruthless capitalism, political power struggles, and opportunistic moves. Use cunning, subterfuge, and your conveniently maladjusted moral compass to navigate a steampunk universe of cut-throat profiteering, both in single-player and multiplayer.

Expand your experience further with the Digital Artbook or Soundtrack, plus the Uninvited Guests, Astral Gamblers, and Automated Competitors DLC.

The 50% discount will last until May 18, 13:00 PM UTC.

NOTE: The game supports Galaxy/Steam crossplay, GOG Galaxy achievements, and a fully functional mod Workshop, among other things.

When you buy this game, you get 2 products in your GOG Library: Gremlins, Inc. – playable online in single-player and multiplayer modes, with item drops; and Gremlins vs Automatons – playable offline in single-player mode.

Tinker with the trailer.

Smannesman: Well it also says 'playable offline in singleplayer mode'.
So I guess if you're online it's connecting to the servers for 'drops' or something.
That's for the second library item, though. The first one seems to be always online.

Breja: "An internet connection and GOG Galaxy are required in order to access the multiplayer content in Gremlins, Inc."

Does that mean there is no hot seat multiplayer?
avatar
P1na: It does say that "playable online in single-player and multiplayer modes". As in, not only isn't there offline hot seat multiplayer, but you need to be online to play single player.

I don't have the energy for this today. I give up.
Ok, this is some major league bullshit. The game's page still states "DRM Free- No activation or online connection required to play." but indeed under "read more" it turns out the game is not actually playable offline. Not even the single-player.

In the middle of the biggest shit-storm this store has seen in a long while around Galaxy being included in offline installers, now we get this- an online only game and an outright, bold-faced lie.

I'm done GOG. You either pull your head out of your ass, or I'm not buying a single, solitary thing from you again.

Huh right you are.
As usual it's very clear /sarcasm.

This brings me to another question.

Does GOG Galaxy have like a microtransaction marketplace like Steam does with the Steam Marketplace where you can sell your loot drops?

I seriously hope GOG Galaxy doesn't have this at all.

You just get loot drops and they are not sellable?

There are two separate game modes. One is offline single-player, and one is online and can be either single-player or multiplayer. Yes, it's a wall of text on the game page, but this is a case where a person needs to read all of it to understand exactly what they're offering.
This looks mildly interesting and I'm bored enough to spend money on something I dont really need but have to read a bit more(and see how fun is the solo experience against AI)
Can a gog.com employee please answer my two questions from page 1?

I'd like a more clear answer to understand this.

According to the head of the page, there are two separate games, not game modes, and only one of them is declared to be playable offline.

The wall of text may have more detailed information and clarify/contradict what the header says, but as I said, at this point I simply don't care anymore.
Okay, I need to ask, as I'm a little confused about the DLC packs. There are 3 game-related DLC packs. "Gremlins - Automated competitors", "Gremlins - Uninvited Guests" and "Gremlins - Astral Gamblers". However, they do not appear under the usual DLC tabs for the main game, and it looks like their release date is a year earlier than the game itself?! 2016 > 2017 (base game). Does one need to purchase all of them, where they directly add on to the base game and you get a "complete set", or are they standalone packs or something?

from the game page
CAN YOU PLAY THIS GAME OFFLINE?
Certainly! When you buy this game, you get 2 products in your GOG Library: Gremlins, Inc. – the edition that is playable online in single-player and multiplayer modes (with cross-platform GOG/Steam servers); and Gremlins vs Automatons – the edition that is playable offline in single-player mode, without any connection to our server whatsoever.

Read all the way down to bottom of the game page, under "OUR DLC POLICY". They do free game updates, all paid DLC is cosmetic/art/music only.
Is it only multiplayer?

sorry but, aint it that game from the devs that litteraly dropped garbage and crap over the head of gog customers when explaining their "online drm mandatory for single offline player mode" that we here peeps should crave for and praise as perfectly compatible with the drm free philosophy

are we speaking of the game from those devs who, after dropping crapload PR statements on us, then DELETED the steam forum thread where they told such BS ?

are we talking of that game that requires always online drm/connection for single player offline mode ?

Armello wasnt ENOUGH for you, GOG folks ? now you directly want online drm and such right from the beginning, and not at some point with upcoming (or nevercoming, instead) patch for a game ?

Question are both GOG team and Gremlins Inc. Devs taking us for SUCH retarded idiots ? i mean, clearly now you are just throwing garbage at us and insulting our intellect here ! thank you very much

i didnt know GOG was now specialized into providing BDSM online services !

Hello there.

I'm the community manager at Charlie Oscar, the developer of Gremlins, Inc.

GOG.com: NOTE: The game supports Galaxy/Steam crossplay, GOG Galaxy achievements, and a fully functional mod Workshop, among other things.
avatar
muntdefems: And, because of all this, no Linux support, eh? Great.
Gremlins vs Automatons, the application that you get together with Gremlins, Inc. and used to play offline, supports Linux.
avatar
Johnathanamz: Am I reading this correctly, gog.com now has a Steam equivalent Steam Workshop with GOG Galaxy?
Gremlins, Inc. uses its own mods repository and has built-in tools to create your own mods.
avatar
muntdefems: Is Galaxy required to play this game?
Gremlins, Inc. yes. Gremlins vs Automatons no.
avatar
Breja: "An internet connection and GOG Galaxy are required in order to access the multiplayer content in Gremlins, Inc."

Does that mean there is no hot seat multiplayer?
The game does not support hot seat.

nightcraw1er.488: Well, I must say the base game looks quite interesting. Shame I am not buying anything at the moment. However, then I look further onto the game page itself and the same old issue jump out. Not only are all thee extras sold seperately, they are even sold separately from each other! Talk about massive con!
All extras are cosmetic only and were released in different times. There are months between their releases.

avatar
Painted_Doll: Are these also available for the Gog version ?
http://store.steampowered.com/itemstore/369990/browse/?filter=All
No.

Gremlins vs Automatons doesn't need any connection with any server and contains all the single-player content that Gremlins, Inc. has to offer.
