Be decisive. Be deadly. Be Delta Force.

Delta Force, a series of highly tactical FPSs where your reflexes are as important as your planning, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com! Get them separately for 66% off or grab them all together for 75% off.

In war, sometimes tactics are all you can rely on to pull off that surgical hit which will decide the victor. Delta Force has tactics in spades, from the series' original game to Delta Force 2, Delta Force: Land Warrior, Delta Force: Task Force Dagger, and the intense later entries, Black Hawk Down and Delta Force: Xtreme. That means you must make all necessary preparations and work together with your team of special operatives as you head in and try to assassinate high-profile targets, sabotage enemy equipment, or escort key personnel to safety. Not an easy task, but hey, there's a reason it was assigned to you!

To further enhance your Delta Force experience, we've included some minor fixes, courtesy of the great people over at the NovaHQ community. These do not alter the games in any way -graphically or otherwise- but they do iron out some bugs and offer a fully-functional multiplayer solution via the community servers. This applies to all games except Delta Force: Xtreme.

NOTE: Access to the official NovaWorld lobbies for online multiplayer is currently not available. We're working on resolving this issue and will keep you posted on our progress.

The 66/75% discounts will last until March 27, 2 PM UTC.
Thanks to GOG.com for finally releasing these Delta Force titles outside Steam.

So far the only games I've played were the original one, Land Warrior and Black Hawk Down. The last one is easily my favorite.

amrit9037: Which one is the best in series?
I mean if you have to recommend it to someone who want to play it after 10 years which one should he play?

nvali: Really depends what you're into. There is no "best" as the very good ones are pretty different by design.

If you're looking for the open world, sniporama, Commando-movie levels of action, I'd recommend DF1 or 2 (if you can stomach the graphics; DF1 is a bit easier to pick up, though). It's also incredible as to how different they are to modern military shooters; if you're sick of how every modern FPS is like an ADDfest then you will like it.

If you want a slightly more modern campaign that's more focused on action over open landscapes you can't go wrong with Black Hawk Down (my favorite of the series but very different to the first 4 games). It's an exquisite experience and the missions will really make you feel like you're part on an army, not just 3-5 dudes going wild in the middle of nowhere.

DF3 and 4 are also decent but they never grew on me (somehow it looked as if the 3D world was uglier than the voxel one from 1999, and also there is less emphasis on friendly support (i.e.: f*ck all in DF4)).

I'm currently replaying DF1 now and it's way more fun than I imagined it would be in 2017, but I also did grow up with it, so it might be nostalgia goggles.
Voxel graphics have a very pleasant look and allow for some insane map sizes(and multiplayer camp fests ;)).But the polygon Delta Force games look very nice too, with a lot more action(DF Blackhawk Down <3).Cheers
I think I have these on Steam already, but what the heck, I prefer installer versions so I bought them again from GOG for the 75% discount.

I have some of the earlier Delta Force games also as retail versions. I recall playing the first Delta Force a bit, seemed an ok military shooter, nothing fancy. I recall liking sniping the enemies in it. It was around the same time I played the first Spec Ops game (which I even finished).

[..] I played the first Spec Ops game (which I even finished).
How are these compared to Spec Ops 1?
Because that game is crap, but I enjoyed it back then (mostly for the clunky difficulty and temporary lack of alternatives lol).
I wonder if the DF series is bargain bin or trash bin material lol.

Are they playable in Windows 10?
Cool, definitely going to pick up a couple of them, especially for that price. Still got the first Delta Force in the original box. Back in the day you needed a good CPU in order to handle the voxel graphics because they were not supported by 3D graphics cards.
This is nice. The first Delta Force was one that I acquired back then in a not-so-legal manner, so now is my time to pay back. Not a lot, but still! Might even give it a new spin at some point.

Absolutely! The version from GOG has fixes that make the game work perfectly with Windows 10.
Back then I acquired these game through illegal manners. But I do remember the graphics were absolutely awful even for its time. Testament to that even my old machine AMD K6-2 550 MHz with S3 Trio 3D 4 MB (which were already outdated for about 5 years at least) able to get these game running decently.

If I remember correctly, the first Delta Force, while it looked pretty bad compared to other first person shooters at the time, its technology allowed for insane draw distances in comparison. You could snipe a guy dead from kilometers away.
New old games on GOG, very good! I put Black Hawk Down on my wishlist, it's a bit too pricy even with that discount...

But I'd like to try one of the two first games. Any DF-Veterans aboard? Which one can you recommend me with regard to gameplay and plot?
I played Operation Flashpoint and have no problems with old pixelated graphics *waving ironically to e.g. Breja*.

Black Hawk Down to me has better gameplay and a linear plot. The games normally have different objectives since the player is immersed in a somewhat global tour of duty.

Thanks for your response. When it comes to choose only one between the first and the second DF, which one would you (and other users) recommend me?

The first Delta Force's attempt to get 3D graphics effects without using 3d Acclelarated graphics by using Voxels ,although interesting, did not really work all that well. WIth Delta Force 2 they went to accelerated graphics.

FYI, the first Delta Force game is missing the intro movie. That doesn't affect the gameplay, but in case you want to have the original intro movie in the game, here's the working solution (thanks to QuoteDaBot):

It would be nice if GOG/Nordic fixed this since it is such a simple fix.
