Kinda like FTL meets Mad Max.

Convoy, a tactical roguelite inspired by Mad Max and FTL, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount!

Heavily armored vehicles, big bad guns, endless desert scapes. And it just so happens we're in the mood for that maximum madness kind of thing. Convoy is a squad-based tactical survival game with a focus on random encounters and tough choices. Your spaceship is damaged, a barren excess begs to be explored, but it's anyone's guess just what you'll find out there as you scavenge for those last few bits of hardware. You'll hang by a thread in high-speed tactical car chases while commanding a squad that's truly yours. Best of all, when you die - you die. The wasteland does not forgive.

The wasteland is far from silent. You can also take the sounds with you, whenever you go for a ride with the Original Soundtrack.

Become a fuel-injected suicide machine in Convoy, available today, DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, June 2, at 9:59 AM GMT.

gamesfreak64: A playable game demo makes all the difference for me in deciding to buy it at once.
I agree! There are a few game demos I absolutely played to death and then had to buy the game at full price: Deus Ex, Fallout 1, Half-Life 1 and Batman:Arkham Asylum

They were really good demos for really good games. If the game is good, then releasing a demo can only be a good thing. Right now, I have no intention of buying this game either, however if it had a good demo I enjoyed, that would likely be enough to convince me to buy it.

Licurg: It's Hatred... how the hell could you miss it ? :/ There's at least 3 threads about it on the first page, two of them mine.

XYCat: So? What's the big deal? I mean the game is just a cashgrab.
Even if that were true, it's still not the point .

gamesfreak64: that game is a waste and a way to violent game, i saw screenshots of law enforcers on the ground in a bloody mess.
i think its okay if a law enforcer in a game blows away badguys, its still violence but its 'good' violence.
Promoting to whack law enforcers in a bloody way in a game should be forbidden by law.

Violence in a game is permitted, provided its the bad guys who get wasted :D
Boy, you must really hate the GTA games...

The non release of Hatred is a bummer for sure and soon to be another bad PR from gog but... why make Convoy's devs pay for it?

As for the game, I gotta say that Biscuit's wtf doesn't encourage me. Although it could be nice on promo then.
Oh joy, the pathetic whine over Hatred is spreading into unrelated threads.

It is a cheap cashgrab. The dudes know pretty damn well that what sells their game is their initial trailer, not the game itself. The game could be just a couple of lazybuilt levels with no actual content for all they care, because it's already paid for ten times over and they know it.

catpower1980: What???!!! No Kris Kristofferson in it ??? I'm dissapointed, not buying this, I want the true "Convoy"!

hmm before talk of "hatred" fills the forums here is the totalbiscuit review of convoy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atzmkp-3gVw

Amazingly he missed the movie and just reviewed the game. Can't win them all :)

I have the movie on Blu-ray but like with most things haven't got to it yet in my pile of things to do.

I actual intend to buy Convoy, as it looks great . I'm just not sure why buy it here . After all, if I can just go buy Hatred someplace else, why not this too ?

It's good that you know what you are talking about and not using "could"s and speculation to make an iron solid conclusion out of thin air. Quality post material.

It's good to know that the game has such a deeply devoted fanbase already, thanks to that one little trailer.
That's where the money comes from.
looks like FTL combined with old car wars board game (classic with the original paper first edition)
so count me in.

Well, you delivered exactly what was expected, no surprise there. Let me help you out a bit.

I'm not a devoted fan. I haven't pre-order and I don't intend to buy, not yet at least.
I don't form conclusions out of assumptions and propaganda. I wait for the final product.
Your post is just a plain rant about how awful a game that you haven't even seen is.
I said that that your rant is baseless.
And you are calling me devoted fan.

I can't decide if your lack of self awareness is genuine or you're just trolling.

There's nothing concerning the quality of that game in any of my posts, let alone a statement about it being awful. And my rant is based pretty much on the statements of the actual devs who are not denying their aiming only for controversy and they spice it up with ridiculous hipster-like shit about games being too obsessed with plot and stuff.

Looks awesome. Will eventually pick it up.

So "cheap cashgrab" is considered a neutral (or maybe positive??) description in what world?

Anyway, from what we've seen the Hatred game has the potential to be a great game or a piece of shit one. So far we know not. Your statement that is awful (and don't play semantics with what you said) is biased and unfounded.
That's all.

In any case I don't want to personally further derail the thread about the release of a totally unrelated game, so I'm out of this discussion.
