Kinda like FTL meets Mad Max.

Convoy, a tactical roguelite inspired by Mad Max and FTL, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount!

Heavily armored vehicles, big bad guns, endless desert scapes. And it just so happens we're in the mood for that maximum madness kind of thing. Convoy is a squad-based tactical survival game with a focus on random encounters and tough choices. Your spaceship is damaged, a barren excess begs to be explored, but it's anyone's guess just what you'll find out there as you scavenge for those last few bits of hardware. You'll hang by a thread in high-speed tactical car chases while commanding a squad that's truly yours. Best of all, when you die - you die. The wasteland does not forgive.

The wasteland is far from silent. You can also take the sounds with you, whenever you go for a ride with the Original Soundtrack.

Become a fuel-injected suicide machine in Convoy, available today, DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, June 2, at 9:59 AM GMT.
Well, nearly bought this game, but then I read that it has permadeat, so "No way"! I can`t understand how one can have fun when playing a game where you could invest hours into customizing your character/spaceship/car and then maybe lose all that because the game throws some unfair enemies at you which are invincible.
I tried FTL, but this game is so fecking unfair that I`ve sworn never to buy again a game which has permadeath!

gamesfreak64: Convoy that's a good movie, shown many times on the tv in the past, i think i have the dvd (cant find it, but i know i have it)

Many steam users compare the game to FTL, but differnt.

I saw the tracks: only 17 and in OGG (lossy format)

€8.99 -10% = €8.09

Description
About: Includes the following tracks in OGG format:

01 - Colonya
02 - Thunder Road
03 - Mercury 0451
04 - C.R.O.S.
05 - T.O.R.V.A.K.
06 - Afterburner
07 - T.A.U.N.T.
08 - The Keeper
09 - 0-303 C.C.
10 - Zero Intro
11 - Omek Prime
12 - Bobcat
13 - Armadillo
14 - Sidewinder
15 - Gila
16 - M.C.V.
17 - Insert Coin to Continue

i am curious how many people will buy these tracks, many thought the 7 euro and some cents for 32 flac and also in mp3 320kbps and more, (for techno babylon) was a bit high.

if i compare those to only 17 tracks in OGG at a higher list price for convoy game, then basically this offer is expensive.
If you look at places like bandcamp soundtracks are generally between 5-10 USD. Up to the author as to what GOG can offer and at what price unfortunately (i prefer flac myself..)

Before GOG decided to not sell a game that many people here wanted, including me, without even bothering to tell us why .

FTL is actually a really fun game, but I can understand how permadeath might put you off.

You need to approach the game from a different perspective. You can't invest yourself completely into one playthrough, but rather see it as one step in a larger game. You learn from each death, and there is also the meta-game with unlockable ships and such.

You should really give it another go when you are in the right mood!

Well, it's good that you can be bothered to give a proper explanation instead of passive-aggressively hinting in a way that requires people to already know what it is you are talking about in order to understand what the hell you are saying.

Ah you are talking about gog's refusal to sell Hatred. The most overhyped game of the year.

Eitherway Convoy looks like a great Mad Max game. Wishlisted.

It's Hatred... how the hell could you miss it ? :/ There's at least 3 threads about it on the first page, two of them mine.

Saw the trailer when it was announced. Ignored it ever since. I don't read every thread on the forum, only those that look like they might contain something of interest to me.

PMIK: Would like to hear what people think of this.

I vaguely remember a review/preview, where they liked it buy said the balance was severely flawed, with multiple frustrating failures due to pure random number generator situations rather than choice and tactics.
if those replies/comments were on steam, then i might have read that part aswell a few months ago.

i checked the vids on youtube but this is not my game, maybe when the game is older and on sale (50% off or more) i might add it to the collection, for now i buy game i will also play.

I bought invisble inc. but i think i wont be playing it (much), until now i never had a game at full price that i did not like,
usually i am very carefull before i buy (unless its 2 bucks then i give it a shot)
I think invisible inc. might be the game i bought because i thought it would play differntly, but all that zooming in and out (scroll wheel) thats not the way to quickly play games.

I am still doubting pillars, i got myself some extra paysafecards so i can buy pillars at 42 bucks, sofar it kept me from buying it cause the risk it to pricey should this game fail on me.

i bought xulima deluxe (on steam and later on gog) and also orderd it online(retail box with paper manuals) priced at 33 euros (so far the order is delayed cause dutchs bol dot com cliamed it would arrive 5-10 days so far i am waiting almost 12 days or even more)
Xulima is a game i would pay max 40 euros for on a retail box (paper manuals ofcourse and no pdf)
In the past when we had guilders i had games priced betwen 9.95 en 129.95 so that would be like 40 or 60 euros at max.

So if a game is good i am prepared to pay a lot more, but most games nowadays are just 'unclear', they look good at first sight, but after playing they sux so i wait till they are on big sale.
The lack of playable (no rolling )demos is a great loss, sometimes indie's have a playable demo like unepic had.
Playing the game yourself is completely differnt then watching videos cause most vids dont zoom or rotate ingame but when you have the game and play them, you notice it requires lots of rotating and zooming.
A playable game demo makes all the difference for me in deciding to buy it at once.

So? What's the big deal? I mean the game is just a cashgrab.
Art looks wicked!
Great timing for a release, devs and GOG, since people are covered in Mad Max love these days ;)

that game is a waste and a way to violent game, i saw screenshots of law enforcers on the ground in a bloody mess.
i think its okay if a law enforcer in a game blows away badguys, its still violence but its 'good' violence.
Promoting to whack law enforcers in a bloody way in a game should be forbidden by law.

Violence in a game is permitted, provided its the bad guys who get wasted :D
Just left a reply in the topic ( i guess there be lots of - buttons being pressed :D )
Why would you wanna be a bad guy? Its only a game most will say, i dont agree, but its anyones choice to do what thay believe.
