Encore, encore!

The Bard's Tale Trilogy remastered is now DRM-free on GOG.com.
Fine-tune your lutes, adventurers! 'Tis time to sing again the tales of Skara Brae. The place where evil took hold, nearly extinguishing all life, all hope. That very same place where the legend of the six heroes began, only this time with high-res graphics that maintain the originals' tone, audio for spells and attacks, plus certain quality of life improvements like an automap and tooltip popups, among others.

Anyone waiting for their keys, here is a hint how to speed things up:

1. Go to the Crowdox survey: https://app.crowdox.com/retrieve/inxile/the-bards-tale-iv
2. Enter your e-mail you used for Kickstarter and click "Resend Email".
3. You'll get an e-mail with the link to your survey. Open it and find "Do you need to make changes or want to add an extra item?".
4. Click "Open Your Survey" there.
5. Then (important and easy to miss!) click "Reward" tab on top left.
6. Find The Bard's Tale I-III Classic Trilogy and select "GOG key".
7. Complete the survey until all is confirmed (several steps there).
8. After around 10+ minutes you'll get your GOG key in e-mail :)

Survey filled out, key landed, cashed in, game on shelf.

Ohhhhhh yeahhhhhh
With shmerl's advice, I now have the game on my shelf and downloaded.

However, it appears that GOG misclassifies the game as an Action game. While there are real-time elements (in BT1, time passes and encounters can come while you wait, and there's also slow SP regen; BT2, when it releases, will have death snares with real-time time limits), they do not dominate the game, and in particular combat is turn based.

First Mary Skelter, and then this game--GOG, please properly classify your games! Someone looking for a turn-based RPG is going to be misled by the classification of these games. (Both the games happen to be first-person dungeon crawlers with turn-based combat.)

By the way, I checked Elminage Gothic, the one other game of this genre I am aware of, and while it correctly has Role-Playing as a listed genre, it also has Action listed (the only real-time aspect of that game is the time limit while underwater, which is a miniscule part of the game and doesn't even come up in a required area if only going for main story completion).

trusteft: What do you mean whole trilogy?

LeonKillsAshley: This is only the first game. The other two games are still being remastered. They'll be added Fall (BT2) and Winter (BT3). Apparently they're also remastering Wasteland, and that is coming out early next year.
They're remastering the first Wasteland again?
that was fast.

Just fill the survey and key appeared!

Yes. Not really sure what they're planning, but I imagine it will be something more along the lines of the BT remasters since it is being done by the same devs (Krome). It's going to be part of a "Wasteland 30th Anniversary Bundle" which includes Wasteland Classic, Wasteland 30th Anniversary Edition remaster, Wasteland 2: Director's Cut, and some other extras. It will also be available as a standalone purchase, and inXile said that backers of Wasteland 3 wouldn't be getting the remaster for free.

Thanks for the instructions shmerl!

I'd got confused with my pledge - I thought I only got the emulated version and didn't realize I also got the remastered version.
Really cool to get this for free as a BT4-backer. BT4 would have to turn out very bad for that pledge to become a bad deal now... :D
Also glad I got this key as a backer, this game I might actually try in contrast with Wasteland Classic.

And, of course, curious about Bard´s Tale IV, though I am little worried about lack of news so far.
That´s never a good sign., as if developers themselves wouldn´t believe in it (their posts used to be more frequent).

There has been quite a bit of news of late. It's launching next month. Gameplay videos and hands on look fantastic.
Has anyone tried to run this in an older OS?
For example Windows XP?
Dammit, if my wallet wasn't so dead... Oh well, back to the original version until I can snag this next check! ;^)
