Encore, encore!

The Bard's Tale Trilogy remastered is now DRM-free on GOG.com.
Fine-tune your lutes, adventurers! 'Tis time to sing again the tales of Skara Brae. The place where evil took hold, nearly extinguishing all life, all hope. That very same place where the legend of the six heroes began, only this time with high-res graphics that maintain the originals' tone, audio for spells and attacks, plus certain quality of life improvements like an automap and tooltip popups, among others.

Did you see where? In KS comments I only see mention of MacOS.

not linux specifically but non-PC and yes PC so not a great thing but I assume they'd just say Mac if that was all it meant

"they will look into Mac Linux" and "the Mac and Linux versions will come" are quite different statements. Any reference for that?

Heh, Linux and MacOS users are PC users :) Terminology is really off. But I suppose that comment is better than nothing. It would be better if they'd mention systems explicitly though.

I LOVE IT!!

They really hit the spot how a remake of a game that old should be done. Keep the flair of the old visuals without completely axing them. Add a little subtle mood stuff (wind howling in the streets of Skara Brae). Add convenience for people with full-time-job and family. But not too much.

Take a throwaway party, go to the Mad God's Temple, and say that the Mad God's name is "burger". I would like to know whether this easter egg is in this version.

(There's a reason I suggest using a throwaway party here.)
Works as expected ;-)

You don't need a throwaway party though. The game can now be saved anytime (except in combat). Although there is a "legacy mode" without the job-and-family compatible stuff.

Yes you can. Hotkeys are properly highlighted too. What you'll miss are the convenient tooltips for spells and equipment when hovering over them. But that's a "new" feature anyway.

Just got a backer e-mail. They will ask you to reopen the survey and choose between a GOG and Steam key. Once you do so, they will be sending the key within 24 hours.
