You know, I still have a working copy of this game...

Maybe I should unpack a box... throw a little handful of death afterwards...
The funny thing is that things seem to have come full circle to a certain extent. Fallout was a spiritual successor to Wasteland because they didn't have the rights to Wasteland. This is now being regarded by many as a spiritual successor to Fallout (1+2) because they don't have the rights to Fallout. Whether or not you like F3 and NV, the gameplay differs from the first two considerably, I imagine this will be a lot closer, being a reboot/remake/whatever of the game that Fallout was a successor to.

Honestly I am lobbying for a similar combat, yep, I want to read the combat results (ala Bard's Tale, if you're not familiar with Wasteland), I know it's oldschool but this game deserves it. Spruce up the world map, the graphics, whatever, keep the combat just the way it is.

EDIT: combat! I have no idea why I said AI, I haven't even been drinking.

Say what you will, I think the concept of "whoever deals the killing blow gets all the xp" is ridiculous. It leads to all sorts of micromanagement idiocy, like switching the one good weapon between party members so they each got their fair share of killing blows. Oh god, the memories. x_x
Alan Pavlish, another one of the original designers, has joined the roster on the new Wasteland. Funny how they all just pop up out of whatever they're doing to design the sequel 25 years later just like that. Wonder if they still got the genius for it?

But this time we have to put the money upfront to find out if they do?

On the plus side, perhaps the kickstarter model will allow them to do a simple graphics but interesting game.
Nice, I'm glad he is going to do sequel to this game. I spent alot of time with the first back in the day. Rumer has it EA isn't going to be involved with the game, I cannot wait.

Had a bit of a looksee and looks like there's one more core member Ken St Andre they have yet to have on board ;). Wiki says he is retired..

With the game industry in the state it is, it's a gamble I'm willing to make. AAA publishers don't think RPGs to the bone will sell enough, and 'indies' don't really seem to care about RPGs to the bone either(that or they don't have the money necessary to do them), so this is seemingly my only option to get what I want.

We're still working on the money tiers, text and video for #Kickstarter so hold tight. I'm anxious to go live but need to get it right."

"Brian Fargo ‏ @BrianFargo
Would love to hear fan ideas for awards at the tier levels of $75, $100, $250 etc. $50 pledge is old school big box, manual and cloth map."

" Brian Fargo ‏ @BrianFargo
For the high tiers you will most definitely get to be in the game and you get a statue erected in your honor for the higher ones."
