cw8: Full price is unlikely to be $50, probably in the $20-$30 range. Definitely more expensive than the cheapest Kickstarter tier that is $15 but not by much.
It's unlikely to go under $25. $30 is my best bet. The Kickstarter price was $15, then they sold it for $20, then that went up to $25. So $25 was the latest price for pre-order, before the beta was even around. That makes $30 a reasonable release price.

Then again, the Deluxe version might end up $50, for the game + soundtrack + art book + novellas + Wasteland 1.

Dzsono: Surely it's been funded enough to be regarded as AAA title, ie, full price $50?

P.S. How is that status determined, anyway?
AAA games have budgets in the order of $100m, not $3m.

Definitely 25-30.. they have to bear in mind all the KS Tiers (or there will be a PR night mare)

Bear in mind what Kickstarter tiers? They went up above $500. Someone that supported the Kickstarters shouldn't be worried about what the final price will be. You were supporting the idea not purchasing a game. I'm thinking it will be between $30-$40? Most likely $30.

That may be true in theory, but in practice I'm sure the majority of backers are also looking to get a good deal and exclusives. Sure, they want to help make the game a reality, but they also want to feel special doing it. If people who come later can get the same perks without taking any of the risk, then many backers would feel cheated. Perhaps not all of them, but enough.

(This kind of reminds me of how people treat the Humble Bundle. Some claim it's for charity, some think it's a way to support the developers, but most just think of it as a way to pay very little money for a bunch of good games.)

Not going to go into it... but there has been minor PR shitstorms ie Strike Suit Zero by backers over the price content at launch on Steam etc

I do believe that Brian Fargo swindled all kickstarters with this new Wasteland, which is looking like a mediocre game.

I do believe that this statement is based on very little, least of which an understanding of what "swindled" means.
Has any Kickstarter funded game gone on to be sold through any digital store for less than the minimum tier that granted a backer a game copy on Kickstarter?

I do believe Wasteland 2 is full of fail like your statement.

Woah, where did all this vitriol come from?!

As a backer who doesn't feel the least bit swindled, and one who has already had $6 value from my investment, I would love to hear your explanation for this statement.
I've played through the beta three times now, and very much enjoyed myself. Character creation is great, with a huge range of skills and weapon proficiencies, graphics are great (especially Ag Center), good enemy variety and weapon variety, combat is basically a party-based Fallout 1/2 but with a cover system which FO didn't have. Plot and writing have been good, and the way "quests" come about doesn't seem contrived at all, you're just solving problems that you come across and discover, not stuff like "Go kill 10 raiders for me and report back", also the content is quite subtle, on my first playthrough I missed some stuff, there's a bunch of locations near Ag Center that you can only unlock by investigating one individual and talking to him. The game certainly doesn't tell you what to do.

Have you even played the game? If so, your standards are set very high for a non-AAA game. I've actually played the game and I love Wasteland 2. I have no qualms with my KS pledge (paid for Retail boxed copy), and will indeed support more games from them on Kickstarter.

The only problem I have with Wasteland is playing the game on steam, but that will be remedied when the game goes retail.

JMich: Early access was a reward for the $60 backers on kickstarter (may have been a bit less). So if you want early access, you pay $60. If you want only the released game, it's $25 from inXile store (both through Wasteland's site and Torment's site).
If a backer had to pay $50 for early access and a non-backer could get early access by paying only $15, there would be quite a few complaining (and rightly so).
Has there been any word on when/if the game will return to the Wasteland store? It's been a while since it got pulled.

No idea. I guess it will return once the game goes live though.
