It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Find what you're looking for faster, easier, and with style.

As some of you have already noticed, today we launched an overhauled navigation system for GOG.com. The goal is simple: to make it faster, simpler, and better for you to explore our store and find what you're looking for.

Browsing our catalog has never been easier: mouse over the Store tab for a neat dropdown menu that contains ongoing sales, a detailed breakdown of our games categories, and several top-tier suggestions.
To bring our games closer to you, we've also made several improvements to our search engine, so locating the title you're after should be much more straightforward now. Those accessing our store through mobile will notice that these changes have dramatically improved their experience, as well.

But that's not all! If you want to reach Support, interact with the Community, or manage your Account, you'll find that the intuitive dropdown menus make for a much more fluid experience, saving you time that could be spent playing your favorite games!

Your account name and avatar are now clearly visible on top at all times, so you can tell at a glance if you're logged in and on which account. Last but not least, redeeming gift codes and switching between languages or currencies is now more readily available with no need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!

I'm too tired tonight to check out everything properly, so will comment only on things immediately noticed:

- Having direct access to a number of things is nice, would have liked it if links to account settings were available in the account tab.
- I'm a dark colours person, so the dark nav-bar is fine, the blinding white drop-down menus, however, suck big time; they're like needles into the eyes, and don't make sense with the rest of the colour palette.
- Same for the search results.
- The dimming when hovering over a menu tab is outright ridiculous; it strains and irritates the eyes, and serves no purpose with the drop-down menus being already so bright.
- The all-caps also suck; why you insist on them I never understood.
- You really don't understand the concept of wasted vertical space.
- Pages open noticeably slower.
- The new navigation system killed notifications of any sort.
- The new search engine doesn't work properly; there's no scrolling, and on Firefox the list gets cut off after a handful of results.

Over 200 posts, and not a single blue text to at least comment on things not working properly or being completely broken. Testing things thoroughly and making sure they work before rolling out changes will never become your strong suit, eh?

Oh, and thanks for breaking every single one of my custom tweaks to get the nav-bar to my liking, and creating a ton of work to restore them and then some to address all the new annoyances, much appreciated.

IronArcturus: Has anyone else noticed that the search on the Nav Bar doesn't allow scrolling? If one types in a broad genre like "adventure," the results will go off screen.
They don't on Firefox, instead the list gets cut off after a handful of results.
Also on chrome/android, the search function is broken. When I press the icon, the search box opens momentarily, but immediately closes before I can even begin to type anything. Super frustrated trying to use the site today.

paladin181: Somehow they made their menu even less mobile friendly. Before I could navigate straight to the sections I wanted, like my wishlist or orders. Now I have to go to the account page first to get to any of those.

Darvond: Raising the question: Why are you using GOG on mobile?
Because I want to. Do I tell you how to live your life? Would you listen if I did?

Why is it not possible to sort by price (and / or by discount)?

kristenmaxwell: Using chrome on android, i can't access any of the links in the Account menu. When I tap something like Wishlist or Games, the account menu slides back down (closes), but the site does not load the selected page.

Pretty much ruins the mobile experience for me.
This is my experience as well. Can't fix things that aren't broken, but let's fuck up what was working pretty well for shits and grins.
Also, where did the notifications go? Couldn't fix them so you axe them?

Not liking the new site. Using Android Chrome I can't scroll anything without opening whatever it is I touch to scroll. The Account section of the menu does nothing for me either. The only way I can navigate the site now is to put it in desktop mode - which is annoying.

CountDown_0: I'd change one thing: the menus in the top bar are opened and closed on mouse-over. I'd make them react to clicks instead.
Exactly this! Navigation with mouse-over is unreliable, slow, annoying when the menu pops up unwanted and inconsistent with the rest of the site.

CountDown_0: I can't insert links (and speaking of UX: the message "You cannot post any links at this moment." isn't clear: what do I have to do to be allowed to?
The correct message would be "Your reputation is too low to post links". If I remember correctly you need at least a reputation of 10 to post links.

+1 to help you reaching it faster. :)

op2017si: I like it too :)

However, I don't understand, why there is some "free space" on top:

MarkoH01: 7) Hate the purple bar above the black bar even more.

ReynardFox: That thin purple strip above the black bar is already bothering the hell out of me aesthetically.

SeduceMePlz: Purple stripe above navigation bar is ugly.
You can get rid of it by blocking this image: https://menu.gog.com/assets/img/bg.jpg
It looks neater in result.

elgonzo: I really wonder about the guidelines that GOG uses for their UI design...
They do not have any. Or at least nobody cares about them. The only consistency on GOG is their inconsistency, unfortunately...
Awesome job. I just love the new navigation bar.
Uhm...I usually hate when something I find reliable gets changed, because it's almost always for the worse.
For example, I absolutely hated when you guys changed the library.
Surprisingly, I don't hate these new changes. They seem functional.
Maybe the menus and fonts could be slightly bigger, but function-wise, they look pretty useful.
I still don't get, tho, why these unrequested changes when there are hundreds of requested changes that you blatantly ignore.

I always wanted a feature to where you look up a game, on its store page there is a link to the community instead of looks for it within the forums. I want this feature because when I see a review claiming there is problems with said game, I can go to the community faster. has this been requested before?

also removing or updating review in a better way would be nice.

that being said, the update to the UI is great, I love it!
That purple bar seems very odd/pointless. *shrug* That said, overall I think it's an improvement over the old. I can actually search the catalog now while in the forum. Previously I had to load the catalog page before being able to do so.
I object to the color purple being above it. :|

Other than that, I think it's cool that you've been working on it. We never know what you're doing until you make a post that you've just done it. :)
