It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Find what you're looking for faster, easier, and with style.

As some of you have already noticed, today we launched an overhauled navigation system for GOG.com. The goal is simple: to make it faster, simpler, and better for you to explore our store and find what you're looking for.

Browsing our catalog has never been easier: mouse over the Store tab for a neat dropdown menu that contains ongoing sales, a detailed breakdown of our games categories, and several top-tier suggestions.
To bring our games closer to you, we've also made several improvements to our search engine, so locating the title you're after should be much more straightforward now. Those accessing our store through mobile will notice that these changes have dramatically improved their experience, as well.

But that's not all! If you want to reach Support, interact with the Community, or manage your Account, you'll find that the intuitive dropdown menus make for a much more fluid experience, saving you time that could be spent playing your favorite games!

Your account name and avatar are now clearly visible on top at all times, so you can tell at a glance if you're logged in and on which account. Last but not least, redeeming gift codes and switching between languages or currencies is now more readily available with no need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!
Yeah, the lack of notifications sucks.

The theory is that this is not a bug but rather something deliberately offered only to Galaxy users.
Not to be crude, but this sucks ass. I want to be able to see on the go (without Galaxy), if I'm getting replies or chats, and not have to deliberately click all the way in just to check. I mean, not that I have many people dropping in, but it's something really nice to have. Thanks for the help, though!

Oh, so everyone is having this issue with replies? I thought it was something on my end.

Nicole28: Hey! Just wanted to ask, has the "forum replies" and "chat" notifications been fixed yet?

Most people (including me) are still thinking that it is a bug. If they wanted to shift people to use Galaxy they could use easier ways than making use of the site more difficult. However - since (as usual) GOG has not given any true feedback regarding the issue your theory is as valid as any. Well done GOG: no (real) feedback => conspiracy theories. Is this really something you want?

good point
Switched to W10 from W7 and to Edge from Firefox.... The loading wheel had quite the freakout. It just bounced all over the place. Still, no websites have crashed so far unlike Firefox. :)

Firefox is about as impressive as the new navigation system.

Well they seemed to have now fixed the new release pictures (aka Outlast 2 and Inside) not taking up the entire section and leaving a thin transparent bar under the pic.
Well this was fixed... now it's the same way it was again on Firefox. :/

Just wanted to drop in and give you some update about the forum & chat notifications. Yes, we're aware they are missing in the web version. It's because we decided to work on those from the grounds up. For the time being they are working in Galaxy only, but we'll bring it back to the web eventually. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Eventually??? You can't be serious. Notifications are more or less essential when you use the forum / chat on a daily basis and when you have a huge library with lots of games that get updates regularly. You should bring them back as soon as possible (and I'm not talking about soon™). Not everybody wants to use Galaxy.

Yep, that deserves a shitstorm.
So, time has passed and I've gotten used to the new interface. Primarily, I stopped perceiving the purple line as a semantic element and it really livens up the black bar.

Best improvements:
- sales in the menu (esp. considering that as the front page pretties up to excite!!!! casual users, it becomes harder to check sales/releases on a workmanlike basis, as I do)
- library counters
- language and currency

Suggestion:
- move friends/chat/replies to Community

Bad:
- fade effect

I used the word "eventually" because I can't give you any specific date, nor I want to say "it's coming soon". It's something our team is working on from the grounds up, and it will definitely take some time. And yes, we're aware that not everybody wants to use GOG Galaxy, that's why we're working on a notifications system that will be introduced in both the client and web. Once again, sorry for all the inconvenience this causes.

So why did you kill the old system before the new system was ready? It doesn't make much sense to me. Update notification sure was buggy, but forum reply and chat notifications worked fine.

It would have to be re-worked with the new navigation system we introduced. And since we decided we'll do it all over again, it made little sense to spend more work on something that we'll kill in the near future.
