Find what you're looking for faster, easier, and with style.

As some of you have already noticed, today we launched an overhauled navigation system for GOG.com. The goal is simple: to make it faster, simpler, and better for you to explore our store and find what you're looking for.

Browsing our catalog has never been easier: mouse over the Store tab for a neat dropdown menu that contains ongoing sales, a detailed breakdown of our games categories, and several top-tier suggestions.
To bring our games closer to you, we've also made several improvements to our search engine, so locating the title you're after should be much more straightforward now. Those accessing our store through mobile will notice that these changes have dramatically improved their experience, as well.

But that's not all! If you want to reach Support, interact with the Community, or manage your Account, you'll find that the intuitive dropdown menus make for a much more fluid experience, saving you time that could be spent playing your favorite games!

Your account name and avatar are now clearly visible on top at all times, so you can tell at a glance if you're logged in and on which account. Last but not least, redeeming gift codes and switching between languages or currencies is now more readily available with no need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!
Still the same about GOG Connect it's still hidden off the website. Please don't hide this behind the url and just let us navigate to it.

Klumpen0815: Proof please.

I have never seen this, only complaints about the notification system not working properly as in not showing some updates (like added Linux ports/packages) while other notification numbers won't go away no matter how often you viewed the item in question.
But people asking for the removal of the notification system? That'd be a new one to me.

ciemnogrodzianin: I remember that discussion, but cannot find it. It was about notifying game updates only. If you have huge backlog, what is the sense of receiving info about every single update in your library? If you've completed the game, it's too late; if not yet played, it's irrelevant; and how many games do you play at once? :)

And I'm one of those people who think that such notifications are useless for me and it would be nice to allow users switching them off. I can understand notification only in case that update changes something significantly (as new campaigns or other reasons to play once more) or supports new systems (as I always appreciate native Linux ports). Or perhaps it would be nice to mark them as read easily (previously it was necessary to open Library, find a game and open it's card)...
As someone who keeps his backups up-to-date and always expects the worst when it comes to digital shops, I have a big interest in update notifications in spite of having one of the larger collections around here.
Best case would be a setting which notifications one wants to receive but atm there are none at all. :/

Me too. How else will we know something has updated in the library?

I don't really care what the bar looks like, its fine from my side, though when viewing on the phone the bar takes up most of the screen, would be nice for it to disappear as you scroll down. But the big part is to keep the previous function for those of us not using galaxy.
Better design, but slower than before.
I love it, didn't encounter any problem on desktop, I find it way more beautiful and practical.
It just misses a link to Connect as someone said before me.

And I'd like to say to some who criticize it, it your right and it's good thing to have different opinions but please be constructive and do not just say you hate it without explaining why and be aware that it's impossible to please everyone when it comes to aesthetic.
I love the new navigation. We can see best-seller simply. It's better. GG GOG ^^
I really like the new navigation system. Thanks!
Any plans on tweaking Galaxy's interface a bit too?
Definitely an improvement. Now the only thing that is missing is more good games and GOG would be perfect.

I'm confused.
Have notifications been removed from the site or what?
If so, wtf are they playing at?

Atm notifications are Galaxy exlusive.
Most people here don't seem to notice or don't care.
So yesterday I stated I liked the changes to the desktop site. I didn't say it was great, but it's better.

This morning I tried it on mobile. it's just as slow or slower and the new menu is cumbersome and ckumsy to swipe through.I never thought I would say this, but put the previous back online.

You know, GoG wants Galaxy to be totally optional.... not really!

Those goals are nice and hope this and future updates will improve the site. Those behind the update must have worked hard, so thank you.

1. Trying to look cool is fine, and not everyone will feel the same towards aesthetic choices. The black and white theme may interest some and others may not like it (from the comments it seems so). Maybe the solution can be having two different themes for the website as we have in the forums. Would it be too difficult?

2. I personally would like to see a brighter and colourful site, especially the GOGCOM logo in COLOUR. That would be pretty good. However that purple bar on top is not something I liked. That being said, I mostly browse through Galaxy.

3. So are we going to see UI changes in Galaxy? No hurries. Take your time, listen to feedback maybe, and build it good.

4. Many have already pointed it out, but I'll say it again, ability to sort games by price would help in finding things faster and easier. And what do you think about a price slider? maybe? :)

5. And this is VERY IMPORTANT. Can we please have the ability to sort reviews? The review system needs much improvement.

These are not complaints really, but rather what I want to see on the site(apart from more games, of course :D ). So lets hope for a better future to the site.

EDIT : Though I use Galaxy, it should remain optional, forever.

I bet they'll care when they start to realise a patch (if patch even comes to gog site...) has been on their shelf for Nth months & they've only just randomly discovered it.

Yerp, that's way I've seen it. "Optional" galaxy stopped being optional when it was the only way to get patches instead of full DLs & it just keeps encroaching...
