It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Those all worked.

Also, I do use adblock and noscript but I used those ages ago with the downloader and it worked fine.

But, I just tried it without either of these things enabled and still no dice.
Okay, I only signed up for GOG a few days ago, but I am so frustrated. I am trying to download the downloader on Firefox, I've tried both the stable and beta versions, and neither can be run! I am ready to shoot my laptop!!!!!!!

Apologies for not replying sooner, but I fell asleep. Only thing I can suggest as a workaround for now is rightclicking on the links and choosing "Copy link location", thus enabling you to paste it in the address bar. Hopefully, Fallen_Zen will know more about the Firefox problem and will get back to you.

Take a look at the previous 10-15 posts, xlucidx is also experiencing the same trouble with Firefox, though I've no idea why. You can use the workarounds for now until you get a more definitive answer.

Are you sure you haven't switched this to ON?
Please make sure you haven't set this to ON if using the stable version: https://secure.gog.com/en/account/beta.
I sent you a copy of the logger, but never got any response. Also, I can't log in with the Stable or Beta releases anymore. The message at the bottom of the Downloader window (opposite the orange/green light) holds at 'error, retrying...'.
I got a PM from GOG on July 3. Just to confirm, that PM is legit, right?
Now the 'GOG.com Downloader mode' buttons (Game Installer, Combined content pack) aren't launching the Downloader.

(Later that day)
No the downloader launches properly and connects, but it's gone right back to crashing when I add items to it, and those items all say "Connection Error, Please try again later!".

Sorry for the delayed response, it seems your requests to our API are timing out. Can you confirm that no other software is blocking http://api.gog.com or the Downloader itself?

Send me the logger log once more with the crash errors.

Hey guys, quick question as this is first time i'm using Downloader. I've set it up to download Chronicles of Riddick, it went very fast but now it's stuck at 7,11GB (which is pretty much all I guess) still saying "Downloading" and download directory have seperate bin files, which I belive should be merged but they are not.

One more thing is the Downloader display "7,11GB of 5,16GB" which is a bug on it's own.

I tried pausing, restarting the Downloader up to no avail. Any chance of fixing it without downloading again?

Close the downloader (from the task bar) and open it again, if it still doesn't go into merging mode, remove the game from the list (right click->remove item from list) and readded. It should see the existing files, verify them, and continue downloading or merging as needed.
Removing and readding worked, it's merging now. Thank you very much.

Try the suggestion provided by JMich (remove the game from the queue and re-add). I'll try to debug why this happened.
Well, I've been downloading Riddick since it went on sale and it keeps plugging along after each restart. I will start the download, it runs for anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes or so, then the KB/s drops or it pauses and the downloader locks up. I close it, restart it and it goes again for awhile.

I did grab the newer version since it seemed important ('b') but it still keeps pausing out. Smaller files go fine, perhaps since they go under 15 minutes most of the time.

Since I am at 5.78GB so far I am thinking to continue rather than delete and restart, mostly since I am stubborn and have the free time. :)

UPDATE: Download finished and files were merged successfully. It still makes me leery about getting any of the larger, newer files though, since it took quite a few restarts to get this one done.

Just a quick reply, it is possible that your antivirus is blocking the downloader. Avira and Avast are known to cause this behaviour, though it is possible that other antivirus will also cause it. Also, try adding edgecastcdn.net to the whitelist, since that is the servers used by gog for the non-free games (the free ones are hosted on amazon).
Alternatively, you could always send your log file to Fallen_Zen, though do check your antivirus first.

Thank you for the reply. I checked and do not see a whitelist option for Microsoft Security Essentials, which is my AV program. I will send in my log file, though, just to be thorough.
