GOG may a tax refugee company. But they are still located in Poland....not a country known for tolerance and borderline to fascism.
Even seeing those lame VN games here is a wonder.

They're located in Poland, but their payment processor is in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, last I checked.

rjbuffchix: No, as there is no way to fundamentally differentiate them from other types of games being sold/not sold here, other than underlying and unwarranted bias against them, which itself can be called immaturity. Again, consider how the argument sounds applied to games you don't mind. It would be immature for someone else to say to you that "I don't want to see point-and-click adventure games listed and until I can filter them out, I'm not shopping here! What's the big deal, I played plenty of them in the 90s btw! so it's not like I'm inexperienced with them!!, people can just buy them over on Scheme instead" when people are outright saying they want them in the here and now on GOG DRM-free. Likewise it is immature to not want the adult games here, to act as though it is some grievous hardship that they aren't hidden away, etc.
Really?
How do you explain that my local store that sells computer magazines doesn't also sell porn magazines? How do they differentiate between those types of magazines since it is such an impossible task to differentiate because both types of magazines use paper and ink?
Or that cduniverse store has a dedicated special part of the shop for porn movies?

And what acrobatic logic are you using to connect immaturity with not wanting porn? Especially when the quality of these games is so poor, that if they weren't porn you would be screaming that it is a shovelware and that the curation process is failing.

Question is: How do you explain many shops actually DO? Quite a few stores have some of these magazines in the upper shelves (above the magazines with cars).
Call that a filter if you want.
If you want to know the reason why your local store doesn't, you should ask THEM.

It's partially a legal thing. Unrated material can't be presented in public (that counts as advertisement). Material that has been rated for adults, can.
If the publishers don't care to get a rating, then their products must be sold in a separated location.
Apart from that the buyers usually want to have some privacy anyway.

Both are likely affected by the sexual repression that is rampant in culture, and in some cases there may also be "think of duh children" laws that require them to obscure such material. This isn't the "gotcha" you think it is, as if a store was generally a "magazine store" (similar to how GOG is a "DRM-free gaming store") there is no reason not to sell magazines of various interests, yes, including adult erotic interest.

Yet again, it would be bizarre to make exceptions for anything else. It doesn't make sense to say "this is a magazine store for all kinds of magazines, but we absolutely will not sell you automobile-related magazines! You have to go somewhere else, or maybe we can hide them behind the counter and only if you ask will we let you buy them". Why specifically are you making an exception for the adult-related stuff?

By the way, I don't care what your real-life store does; it is obvious most people are carrying this religio-cultural bias to various degrees. I am asking for justification of such biases, justification in an intellectual sense, meaning appeals to majority or appeals to tradition are logical fallacies and do not meet such a standard.

The immaturity is in not wanting adult games here DRM-free, when this is a store that sells DRM-free games, while being unable to logically justify your bias as to why adult games "shouldn't" come here but other types should. Please do not put words in my mouth. And again, you are illustrating the hypocrisy. If you are concerned about low-quality/low-content titles, there are imo a fair amount on here especially if factoring in ones that were abandoned by devs/pubs. The fact that you are not railing against such titles, but are railing against the idea of the adult titles, proves that it really isn't about wanting "high quality games-only" at all.

Orkhepaj: you really want to label things they are not just to prove your point...
LOL. Says the guy that puts fully working games in a same list with scam games? barly working asset flips? micro payment fests? addiction abusing gambling simulators? just because he doesn't like their genre. Many walking simulators are less "games", than these AO games. Why they can be on GoG, and AO - can't? Why your "familyfriendliness" doesn't have any problems with brutal games that contain lots of blood, deaths, etc.? They aren't for children too. So should GoG delete these games? And why jrpg is a game, but jrpg with some adult content isn't a game and shouldn't be here?

bombardier: And "evil" is just a matter of perspective. When you as a "Pumkin Jack" walk to a AI controlled character, does it attack you without provocation or are you the one that needs to initiate the attack?
Well... At the first level of Super Mario Bros enemies hurt you only if you touch them. Usually they walk from side to side and don't attack or chase you. So Mario and all players who killed these enemies are bad guys?! You just ruined my childhood and whole world

I am not railing against adult titles, I am railing to have an option to hide them from MY homepage. I don't want to see this low effort garbage in my homepage. My main criteria for stuff to hide is "Can I make it myself as a hobby project?". If the answer is yes, it should not be on my store front.

It is not my fault that the adult games are mostly just some slap-dashed garbage that don't even have their own visual identity, but are just some bare bones scenes and models from Poser and all end up looking like one another or generic 3d porn comics. Such a low effort products are not some special art that needs to be protected or preserved. They are simply low effort popcorn media that are hiding their low quality behind the "edgy" mask of porn.

All of you are interpreting this as an attack on freedom and your rights or whatever garbage is popular these days as a talking point in echo chambers of self proclaimed progressive people who need to signal to each other how edgy they are, because they consume porn and lead long discussions on merits of incest or rape scenes in modern media.

As I said at the start:
Steam has more porn garbage than GoG, but it offers me to hide category of games and I really have no problem with that. I will start concentrating my spending on Steam, so good luck to you all with 2 million USD loss if one simple filter feature is such a big deal to you whiners.

Orkhepaj: complaining wont make anybody a karen
Actually: while complaining/criticizing a bit and/or for major issues isn't being a karen, overly complaining(and rudely) for minor things is the very essence of being a karen.

BanditKeith2: Funny enough that key remark is rather spot on as Cars with chips in them to remote unlock and remotely start are now well starting to need fees to work that way still.. yes I ain't kidding this is a thing now in the real world
Plus vehicles that won't start if one had something to drink....which sounds good on paper, but: what if someone is in an emergency, is the only one capable of driving, and their vehicle won't start cuz they had something to drink? o.0

Not many(if any) are against filters....i'm all for them, for example....just not for outright banning of said content from the store.
