JoeSapphire: bump
Thanks.

Don't think I explained well. I meant this:

For someone who read their PM, it's pretty obvious why "I'm a tunafish" is scummy and deserves a Lynch instead of NL. Your post made me think that you needed an explanation on why it's a scummy statement and hence outed yourself.

and now you think...?

JoeSapphire: and now you think...?
Now I think that your post

Was not: Explain why the statement 'I'm a tunafish' is scummy.

Was: Explain why you specifically wrote 'tunafish'.

Which was a valid point to inquire about.
avatar
Lifthrasil: I didn't ask you to check capitalization. I just asked, because our task is to eliminate all things un-beef. So if you were just tuna, that statement could have been a slip. (before you then, hypothetically, checked the sample PM, prompted by my question to do so). You may be right that tuna is a word play on town. But this game might as well be tuna-beef against tuna.
It's true that if I was scum I could have just checked the sample PM. But I didn't need to when I have my own.

And yes, I know you didn't ask me for capitalization or all that crap, I was just making sure we wouldn't go down that road. I know it is tempting when a suspect divulges info that they claim comes from their PM. In your place I would be itching to ask some more.

avatar
Lifthrasil: In any case, there is something fishy about your tuna!
Whew. I'm glad you finally recognized that this is normal tuna. Tuna that isn't fishy, now that'd be bizarre.

avatar
Pookina: I've been reading his exchanges with others and...I dunno, it seems everything he's saying is just too convenient to be true, and when caught on his slip, he's been trying whatever he could to save his skin. I like the effort, but don't think it's ringing the right bells with me.
Yeah, that's an inconvenient fact about saying the truth. It usually doesn't contradict itself.
I'm impressed by the lack of logic in this statement. "Aha! What you said fits everything you had said previously. Therefore, you must be scum." Truly, Sherlock Holmes would be amazed.

I wonder what does it take to make you and some others to realize I'm Town despite of my mistake. Should I say the Tunabeef magic words™? Use the Secret Finshake™?

avatar
Microfish_1: [something about no lynch]
I'd be willing to do it today if no one starts hopping up and down screaming "I'm a tunafish!"
avatar
JoeSapphire: explain this.
Uh, isn't it obvious?
(And yes I know why you're asking, I just meant that the answer is simple enough. I just won't say more because the question was not addressed to me)
Preposting-edit: uh, I see I was late and ZFR already explained it.
avatar
dedoporno: I did?? I must've not felt myself. Can you remember and remind me where I said that? Don't limit yourself to "recent", too. Ever would also work as I honestly can't remember when and where I suggested such a thing.

There are a few other posts I can't go through right now, more later today.
Here in post 341

I even then replied to the bit I mean in my Post 361

You seemed to be saying we should do it "before the clock runs out"...does that not mean asap?

++++

(Bump needed)
avatar
ZFR: It's not. If it were true, it would be Day over now.
By that I meant once the clock runs out the votes essentially the same as voting NL(those not voting).

avatar
ZFR: Yes I did. Where do you see any contradiction?
I was asking because you seemed to have lost some enthusiasm for a NL as soon as possible.
(of course that's likely due in large part to backing down a bit out of respect for some players who dislike playing the game in such a manner)

Question: With current posts and events....do you think we should continue trying to lynch Joppo, go the route of NL, or lynch someone else? And if someone else, then who?

++++

Sidenote: Am still reading posts, and doing them player by player....have read that others possibly did or said something suspect....will get to it in a bit as I reply to each player.

++++

(Bump needed again)

nmillar: Only I know my alignment, so anybody who is town aligned should consider me as a potential suspect.
Pats on the back and kudos for using the line I have used in one form or another for several games now.

avatar
nmillar: Cue discussion about how Lift and I are clearly backtracking and must be the scum team.
No, its probably more like.....ooh, but that would be telling ;)

(I mean I have some thoughts as to the scum team re picking my own bragging rights, which I will post in a bit when replying to another player)

(Bump)
avatar
Lifthrasil: Why would he have outed himself? What is your line of reasoning leading to this question?

Actually I think Joe might have a catch! Micro writes in post 387:

I had read that as a micro picking up on my question to joppo in post 385 and the suspicion implied therein. But he wrote in 387 that he had caught up to 360. So he can't have been inspired by my post 385 ... and the tunafish doesn't make sense there.
@Micro: why do you write that this game is tunabeef against tunafish? Are scum actually called tunafish in this game? And how do you know that? Or where did the fish come from?
avatar
JoeSapphire: how right you are.

but why didn't you mention this sooner?

vote microfish
This post seems like a "flimsy" way to try to shade micro(or if he's scum, to throw him under the bus a bit to distance from him).

As such, you are now in my scum sensing sights(TM and patent pending, a sub division of ACME).

++++

This and other recent posts(the "feel" and wording of them in general, etc) made me think the scum team is among the following players.
(Bragging Rights):

Joe/Lift & Nmillar/Joppo

++++

I feel the scum are in the above 4 players.

If I am right at end of game, I will gladly take rewards and boons in the form of chocolate bars and champagne bottles. :)
(Op, there is a vote in this post)

This entire post....it seems be "too try hard".
(don't now how to better say what I mean, so I hope everyone reading this can get what I mean if they read the post I am quoting here)

That plus since you're on my list and seem to be highest wagon....I have a gut feeling, and this is as good a chance as any so:

Vote Joppo

(If you somehow are town, feel free to join Nmillar from the one prior game in kicking my posterior :))

++++

Sidenote to all: I am willing to also change to Joe if a wagon forms on them and gets high enough(heck i'd even be willing to hammer...on either Joe or Joppo's wagon), or (if the wagons somehow don't have a chance at hammering by EOD) possibly go NL as ZFR suggests and let the cards fall where they may.

++++

Lastly, in the hope we get a bullseye and hit scum today(d2):

Some music to celebrate with by the great Phil Collins
Votecount the Nine and a Halfth - "I guess I was mistaken."

Microfish 2 - nmillar (#337), JaiSpohpere (#418)
Joppo 5 - ZFR (#359), dedoporno (#382), bucktoothgamer (#399), pookina (#410), GymHenson (#430)
nmillar 1 - Microfish (#401)

Not voting 2 - Lifthrasil, joppo

With 10 players 6 votes are required for lunch.

Joppo is closest to lunch at L-1.

Please check your vote (or lack thereof) and make sure I have counted it correctly.

I'd like to take the opportunity to remind you of rule 14.
avatar
my name is sadde catte: I'd like to take the opportunity to remind you of rule 14.
Hmm.....I don't recall that there rule being there at the beginning of the game.

I wonder....is this a case of....Shenanigans?!? o.0
avatar
Microfish_1: [something about no lunch]
I'd be willing to do it today if no one starts hopping up and down screaming "I'm a tunafish!"
avatar
JoeSapphire: explain this.
what i said. unless someone is blatantly obvious as scum (including something as blatant as saying hopping around saying, "i'm scum") I'm willing and ready to vote for NL.

avatar
JoeSapphire: explain this.
avatar
nmillar: Oh, Joe, have you just outed yourself?
huh? what am i missing?
avatar
Microfish_1: huh? what am i missing?
My guess? Nmillar(if town) is maybe trying to say or infer that Joe isn't paying attention to the game due to maybe being scum, as evidenced by the fact that Joe didn't seem to get that Tunafish is sort of what we're calling the scum team(or it seems that way, and that we're calling scum that name unofficially, from reading some recent posts).

Add that to the fact that Joe said he was dressed like a goon on page 1, and also said the word LAMIST in a post on the same page, I have a weird feeling Joe might be scum as well.
avatar
Lifthrasil: I had read that as a micro picking up on my question to joppo in post 385 and the suspicion implied therein. But he wrote in 387 that he had caught up to 360. So he can't have been inspired by my post 385 ... and the tunafish doesn't make sense there.

If you read my post, i am replying from old posts to new posts in a top-to-bottom order.

I comment that i had caught up to post 360, but then i later --in that same post--respond to ZFR's 371 qhen I said
avatar
ZFR: never good to NL unless etc
avatar
Microfish_1: oooh i hadn't recalled the bit about all players being even.
What if the scum don't do a NK following a NL in order to further confuse us?
By the end of that post (387) I was caught up to the "current" time.

So yes, it was sort of picking up on your suspicion, but also because the only word that usually immediately (in the same sentence, anyway) follows "tuna" is "fish". In fact, some people don't use just "tuna" but the pleonasm, "tuna fish."
Further: Catte is having a laugh by calling town as "tunabeef" so I continued the joke and imparted my own dislike of fish by implying "tunafish=scum"
I obvs don't know what the scum are called, and I'd have a laugh if they *are* fish. It would just be so...fishy. :-D

I'll quote ZFR's 422:
avatar
ZFR: For someone who read their PM, it's pretty obvious why "I'm a tunafish" is scummy and deserves a Lunch instead of NL.
This is what i was stating, and why didn't Joe get this?

avatar
joppo: Use the Secret Finshake?
I know, I left off the "TM", but yes, you should.
I don't think you "must be" scum, FWIW, but I'm not convinced that you "must be" town, neither. (either?)
