Johny.: If you wish, you can click "monitor" on the issue here (log in to http://mantis.gog.com first):
http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=5726
Another user reported the same thing.

Two questions for you: do you log out before closing GOG Galaxy? Do you have the option "Keep me logged in" unchecked?

I cannot reproduce this in any way. :(
1. I never do log out so that maybe the problem.
2. I also don't have the keep me logged in button checked. I'll try those out and see how it goes.

Thank you
GOG galaxy causes runtime errors for me in some games when I start the games from GOG Galaxy.

Symptom:
EE - Runs for a few seconds, then freezes
NWN - Game crashes when started from GOG galaxy, but runs fine when started from the folder. The folder was created by GOG Galaxy.

Empire Earth Gold Edition
Neverwinter Nights Diamond (with patch 1.69 critical from Neverwinter Vault, crashed from Galaxy but not tested if it ran from the folder without that patch)

As for the guy with the white screen, do NOT run GOG Galaxy as administrator.

Hey,

great news today! We have released a new version of GOG Galaxy. It is 1.2.43 now and it brings quite nice improvements.

As a followup change in GOG Galaxy due to release of Profiles (https://www.gog.com/news/introducing_gog_profiles), when you click on a friend in GOG Galaxy it will open their profile page!

We have also added a way to dismiss our desktop notification, with right-click of your mouse. I love this change:)

The problem you guys have reported with downloads sometimes getting stuck at 99% and speed going down to few kb/s should also be fixed. Random one chunk of download was not being cooperative and GOG Galaxy will dismiss it much faster than before now.

The rest the changes can be found in the changelog as always.

Cheers

Nice, glad to see my suggestion was added. Still think "show all" on achievements should link to said games achievements section on profile (like Steam does). So for instance clicking show all fallout new vegas achivements will take me to:

https://www.gog.com/u/BKGaming/game/1454587428

In the overlay this could be handled via a pop up window which shows this info.

There a few areas in Galaxy and on the site where profiles have made certain features redundant. These features should be merged to the profile.

For instance on the site:
https://www.gog.com/account/friends
these features should be merged into:
https://www.gog.com/u/BKGaming/friends

No point in having 2 friends sections when one section can perform all needs.

And apparently one of those "the rest of the changes" fixes my blank white screen issue. Now to fix all the orphaned app install entries I created by manually deleting folders trying to fix it before. At least Galaxy fixes those entries when I reinstall the games, so I guess no lasting harm done.
Hey,

we've got reports that after last update (1.2.43) GOG Galaxy is crashing. Worry not, there is an easy workaround for it :)

The crash may only happen when GOG Galaxy is being launched by one of game's shortcuts on the desktop and the game is not updated to the latest version.

That is probably not most common situation, but still may happen.

Workaround is simple, you can choose one:
- Launch GalaxyClient.exe from GOG Galaxy installation directory (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy)
- Open Start Menu, look for GOG galaxy and launch it

We are working on a fix, it will be probably released next week.

Works fine for me with the latest patch. I had problems with Galaxy not syncing saves with previous patch but now it works.
Seems that not only is there a time lag when a game updates on the profile after being started, but sometimes games don't show as recently played or even that you are online playing them.

Also having some kind of render issues, where lines are disappearing and reappearing when scrolling.

I tried it all - compat mode, DirectX install, etc - eventually even the unofficial critical fixes patch when I read about it. The game works fine when started from the game folder, as I said, but not from the Galaxy client.
So it's not an issue for me personally, just for the GOG Galaxy client.

EDIT: Found another GOG Galaxy Client bug.
When I access the forum, the "search" does not work. Tried to search in the Settlers series forum, but must do so in the browser, not in GOG Galaxy.

I'm also getting asked to log in everytime I lose connection to GOG. I leave Galaxy open on PC and I have had to log in 3 or 4 times today, this is getting very annoying and only started after updating to 1.2.43.

Well known issue, suppose to be fixed whenever GOG gets around to adding a new forum software.
