Hey,

we have released a new update for Galaxy, 1.2.31.

It fixes the problem with Galaxy autostarting, despite the setting, which started happening after Windows 10 Fall Creator's update), we also improved how Galaxy keeps track on time you've spent in game.

Full changelog, as always you can find either in Galaxy or in sticky forum post.

Enjoy :)

DesmondLonghair: Sorry if this has been addressed somewhere, but does anyone else have trouble with Galaxy just... not downloading things? Or at least being incredibly slow to initialize? It happens every time.

I selected Blood from my library, and it took an honest 15 minutes for the "install" button to light up. I timed it. Then when I clicked install, it took easily another 10 before it would even let me authorize the install. It's now working just fine, but the time it takes to initialize a download is ridiculous.

Although it's a great piece of software otherwise, so I feel kinda bad having to complain like this!
We are aware of the issue, the version we just released has a slight improvement for this problem, we are planning some more.

And thanks for the appreciation! :)

I'm hoping to get a solution to my issue here - hope I'm not out of place.

For the last day Galaxy tried to update and constantly failed. When I downloaded the new install from gog.com/galaxy it told me that the same or newer version was already installed. Today I booted my PC and it updated again and actually succeeded and is now on 1.2.31 but it acts like it has no connection. I can't see my library, apparently no games are installed and i can't access the store. I AM logged in however, but I can't log out. Nothing happens when I try. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no change. It also didn't ask me to log in again after I uninstalled so I don't know if that's normal.

I've checked through the articles on the support page and I've contacted support directly in the hopes they can help. I just thought someone might be able to help me here.

Edit: I got a pretty quick reply from support and after going through the motions I noticed that my Avast antivirus had the client flagged. I'm assuming false positive?

Hello,
have an issue as well with newest Galaxy.

Galaxy tried to update but then ther window suddenly closed with no error message.
The shortcut did not work any more.

I downloaded the setup and it tells me that "an error occured trying to rename a file in the destination directory".
"MoveFile has failed; code 5".

I unistalled previous version of Galaxy.
I erased the temporary directory.
I ran the setup as Administrator.

[Edit]
Ok, restarted computer and everything is ok.

O.K. - I opened a ticket in mantis.
It got assigned for quite some while but the only one actually adding anything to it is me - providing logs, feedback ect. If I start Titan Quest using Galaxy (and ONLY in this case) quitting the game will give me an error message every time. It seems that the Galaxy team is not interested at all in fixing this since I did not get one single feedback until now. I will now contact support directly (even though it IS a Galaxy problem) because I have good experiences with Support but not with the Galaxy team (which also ignored my recurring question here in this very thread again and again). What a shame.

Yep I've had this issue for a long time. Glad to see other people starting to confirm it now. I reported the issue here and hopefully it will be fixed soon enough.
After the installation (see 2-3 posts above), and few hours of checking my games, I start one and pouf, Galaxy exits.

I try to restart it from Shortcut -> it is like Galaxy has been uninstalled.

Restart computer -> reinstall version downloaded 2 hours ago (1.2.29.28) -> Galaxy updates to 1.2.31. Could start a game.

Lets'see.
Obviously the newest Galaxy version triggers some false positives in several AV programs (so far I know about AVAST and AVG - might be more). The files in quesion (I had to add them to the exception list) are Galaxyupdater.exe and OverlayInjectorWin32.exe. So if you should have problems running or updating Galaxy - especially access denied messages - in any way check your quarantine foler of your AV program and if a popup shows up regarding those two files just add them to your exception list. The Galaxy team sghould really take a look at the newest update before support is flooded with tickets.
Gog galaxy error essential components missing.
Nothings works, always this error after last update.
For some reason Avast Free Anti-virus says that the update for GOG Galaxy is infected with malware.
I'm getting this problem to thanks to being forced to use AVG.
AVG reports the GalaxyUpdater.exe was infected with Win32:Malware-gen, if that helps anyone.
I just uninstall GOG Galazy, I'm gonna wait until the problem is fixed.
Regarding the Avast malware detection, just got that too.
Yesterday it was fine though.

And GOG, please update the version available on the download page.
Won't run the Galaxy with this issue, false or not, I will not take the risk.

So once you have an update, inform and post the correct download.

Thanks
