It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Cool. I was afraid I'd simply lost my favorites. Nice to see they were just transferred to the archive. I'm ok with that.
*giggles* Why would you fix the search engine when you can move all the threads? Priceless. It's like moving into a new house because you are too lazy to clean the old one. You won't fix anything by doing this, you'll just delay the inevitable.
Remember, kids: A fish rots from the head down. :)
Damn, I missed this announcement and all my old favourited threads are not gone. They were there for a reason. That's like forum DRM, that is.

Don't know whether the "not gone" is just you being clever or a typo for "now gone".
If the latter, they're not gone. They're probably here.

Typo. And yes, they're there? Thanks.
Did GOG also archive some peeps from the chat list?

Reever: I reapeat. You guys need a forum overhaul already.

And Mods (for moving threads and stuff, not for censorship and banning).

Senteria: But don't you like our anarchy?
I do, that's why I specified what the mods should be for.
I have to agree with all others who expressed their concerns about this.
The forum needs evolution not regression.
gog staff, please reconsider
Given that threads are identified by slugs in the URL, I wonder how collisions will be handled if more threads ever get added to the same archive. http://www.gog.com/forum/general/book shares a slug with http://www.gog.com/forum/general_archive/book

They won't, GOG will end up trashing them (probably overwrite, maybe merge) because they have a long history of not thinking things through before they do them and inevitably breaking everything.

Well done GOG, you've broken every link to a GD topic that was created before 2015 (both on and off site).

I wish you'd think before you did things like this.

Not only that, this is a potential security risk. Someone could create an account that looked similar to an old account, create a topic with the same name as an archived one and now all the pre-2015 links will point to their MitM topic instead of the original.

For example, any links to that originally went to here
now go here instead.

EDIT 2018-03-29: Fixed post because GOG broke the links somehow.. seems to not like multiple urls in a single line.
