Good deal.
Not a deal, but I just realized that Celeris' downloadable Virtual Pool 3 is only $10 (they finally released VP4). The game's rather old, so the system requirements are low, and the installation takes just a bit over 100MB. The physics are excellent, the graphics are nice where it matters, the difficulty curve is very smooth, especially in Career mode, where you get to pick your opponents.

The catch is the DRM. Custom online activation.

the_bard: Dont know anything about these. Looks interesting
Very good card & board games. I broke down two weeks ago and bought all three at full price after stalking the site for a year.

taczillabr: Solium Infernum
Is this game similar to Dominions, where the whole point is multiplayer and the singleplayer isn't really viable cause of the AI?

The AI is difficult to judge, because the game won't necessarily escalate into a direct military conflict, where their actions become visible. They can beat you in the endgame results screen. Try the demo and see, how they manage for those 15 turns.

Oh nice, didn't realize there was a demo. Will check it out, cheers. I was just wondering because the game looks really good, but when it comes to turn-based strategy I prefer the singleplayer aspect of it.

BUYER BEWARE.

The DRM used in VP3DL was dreadful.

Want to install onto a desktop and a notebook or just 2 computers in your house?

Forget it. It has a "phone home" DRM which reactivates itself each time it is ran from a different computer than the last time it was used.

Do this more than 6 times per YEAR and you need to contact them to authorise a new key, which they are not obliged to do. Very inconvenient and impractical for the 21st century. That is the sort of this you had back in the nineties.

I asked them about this DRM relating to VP4 and they informed me they using the same DRM which is disappointing.
And there's their stance on DRM http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=22570177&postcount=32

However there is a crack for the last VP3 version :)

Thanks for the heads up. I think I've got quite a few games now that are going to result in either me having to contact the company to reinstate my activations or send me crawling CD Copy and Burn World.

-Amazon Gold Box Event September 25th

Gold Box is Amazon's new way of doing Flash sales like Steam did during their Summer event.

As of right now the Gold Box is promoting random various items all throughout Amazon's catalog but for the duration of the 25th all flash sales will be video game related.
