Finished games in:

2015 - 6 games - 3 GOG and 3 PS3
2016 - 16 games - 2 GOG, 11 PS3 and 3 PS4
2017 - 15 games - 6 PS3 and 9 PS4
2018 - 10 games - 4 GOG, 1 PS2 and 5 PS3
2019 - 11 games - 8 GOG, 1 PS3 and 2 PS4
2020 - 14 games - 5 GOG, 3 PS3 and 6 PS4
2021 - 10 games - 5 GOG, 1PS2, 1 PS3 and 3 PS4

2022 (so far 1 GOG game, 10 PS3 games and 20 PS4 games):

1 - January 2, 21:30 – First finished game of 2022 is Platinum Trophy run of Hyperdimension Neptunia VII on my PS4. I just needed to get out of my way last 8 trophies to finish the game on 100%.

2 - January 7, 22:00 – Next in line on my backlog was Super Neptunia RPG on my PS4. A 2D platformer RPG spin-off in the Nep Nep series :) .

3 - January 8, 16:45 – Just finished the Platinum Run of Super Neptunia RPG on my PS4, which became my fastest Platinum Trophy so far (4 days and 17 hours).

4 - February 3, 19:30 – I have started and finished my "lost" copy of Journey on my PS3. It was just a very short and chilled playthrough, where I tried to get as much trophies as possible.

5 - February 4, 11:00 – Another playthrough of Journey on my PS3 is behind me. The plan was to get some missing collectibles and to get the “surfing” trophy at the Sunken City area.

6 - February 13, 20:30 – I've just finished second playthrough of Tales of Arise Demo on my PS4.

7 - June 5, 22:00 – After pretty long break from gaming, I have finished my first playthrough of Heroes of Might and Magic from GOG.

8 - June 12, 21:15 – Third playthrough of Journey on my PS3 is behind me. The plan was to find as much companions as possible and to get last symbol for the golden trophy.

9 - June 19, 16:00 – And playthrough number 4 of Journey on my PS3 is behind me. Again, I was trying to meet some more companions for the Wonder trophy today, while getting the last glyph.

10 - June 25, 17:30 – Fifth playthrough of Journey on my PS3 finished. Only one companion met this time :(

11 - July 3, 21:00 – After 6 years and 11 months, I've decided to get back to my unfinished 3rd playthrough of Atelier Rorona on PS3. The goal for this playthrough was Pie Master ending, while getting Rorona's Alchemy level to 50.

12 - July 31, 21:00 – After almost 11 years, I decided to visit Atelier Totori again on my PS3, and start my second second playthrough of the game. I wanted to finish everything, what the game has to offer and achieve all prerequisites for the True Ending. I was able to get all the missing playthrough trophies, but unfortunately, I must have missed some character event, and as a result I was awarded with Rorona's Who's the Teacher? ending instead.

13 – September 10, 20:30 – I've finished the sixth playthrough of Journey on my PS3. I wanted to relax a little bit, and hoped to meet at least one companion online. Unfortunately, no one was around today.

14 – September 10, 22:45 – I have decided to give my PS3 Journey one more try, because I have found one guy on Journey Discord, which planned to play today. We met at the Bridge level and my Wonder trophy finally popped up. So my journey is 100% complete now :) .

15 – September 16, 09:30 – Second playthrough of Atelier Meruru after 8 and half year on my PS3 is behind me. Again, the goal of this playthrough was to get all missing trophies and one new ending.

16 – October 29, 16:15 – Finished my first playthrough of Atelier Lulua on PS4. I've purchased it few months ago, but never had a chance to play it. Now I spent more than 90 hours with the game and even without a walkthrough, I was able to unlock the true ending and Her Choice trophy.

17 – October 31, 14:00 – I have finished Platinum Demo: Final Fantasy XV on PS4 to unlock Carbuncle Summon for the full game. I did not expected much, and still ended up disappointed. Big empty Open World, and clumsy real-time combat. I am not looking forward to play the full game.

18 – November 18, 20:30 – I have finished the main storyline of Final Fantasy XV on PS4. It is still mixed bag for me.

19 - November 25, 17:15 – Storyline of initial release of Final Fantasy XV – Comrades DLC on my PS4 is behind me. I liked the combat system more than in the base game.

20 - December 1, 13:30 – After little bit more than 40 hours of playing and few retries, I was able to beat Ifrit, the final boss of the Final Fantasy XV – Comrades March 2018 Update DLC on PS4, and finish the whole DLC storyline.

21 - December 1, 14:30 – An hour after beating Ifrit, I have amassed an output of 999,999kW, required for the final Let There Be Light trophy of the initial release of Final Fantasy XV – Comrades DLC on PS4.

22 - December 1, 22:00 – The third one of the day was the final trophy of the Final Fantasy XV – Comrades March 2018 Update DLC on PS4. It was needed to complete the Future: Comrade mission with all four protagonists of the main game.

23 - December 3, 14:45 – After a day of break I have finished Final Fantasy XV – Episode Gladiolus DLC on PS4.

24 - December 3, 22:00 – All trophies in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Gladiolus DLC are finally unlocked on my PS4. The last two challenges were painfully hard for me, but also a lot of fun and a little bit of rage. Especially the Final Trial against Cor :) .

25 - December 6, 01:15 – I have finished the storyline of Final Fantasy XV – Episode Prompto DLC on my PS4.

26 - December 6, 22:30 – Last two PS4 trophies in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Prompto DLC have been acquired. The two DLC challenges were much easier than in Episode Gladiolus, but they needed a little bit of practice as well. Especially the snowmobile Time Trials.

27 - December 16, 21:45 – After a few days of chilling in the main game, I have started and finished the storyline of Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ignis DLC on my PS4. This DLC was so far the weakest from the three character DLCs.

28 - December 17, 21:45 – I have reached alternate ending in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ignis DLC on my PS4. It was just a short session, but I had more fun, than in the rest of DLC.

29 - December 18, 16:30 – After 1 hour and 6 attempts, the Friendly Match challenge versus Noctis in Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ignis DLC has been won, and with it, the last PS4 trophy of this DLC is mine. The final attempt took me 10 minutes and 54 seconds.

30 - December 20, 13:00 – After finishing all PS4 trophies in Episode Ignis, I have decided to relax a little bit and run around in the main game to finish some sidequests. I also went to finish the quest involving Melusine superboss, which were added to main game as a free update/DLC. I have defeated her on a second attempt, and after reporting the quest at the Hunter HQ, I have received the trophy, and with that, Final Fantasy XV – July 2017 Update is 100% complete.

31 - December 29, 12:00 – I have finished storyline of Final Fantasy XV – Episode Ardyn DLC on my PS4.

XIII, Jan 3 (GOG)-The original game not the remake. I can see why this has become a cult classic. It's a decent diamond in the rough type with some fun combat and presentation and some minor flaws. The graphics were good and the comicbook feel was fun. On the stealth levels sniping with the ridiculously overpowered crossbow was also enjoyable and hearing the tap tap of the enemy footsteps was a nice touch. There were however far too many stealth sections for my liking. The game was at it's best when they let you loose on a level of straight combat letting you use all those weapons you've acquired. Parts of the game were a little clunky. Movement, shooting, changing weapons all felt a little off. The game was rather easy until the final battle. The plot was interesting enough but nothing groundbreaking. Overall I'd say its a slightly above average shooter with an unique look and an interesting plot that would get lost in the deluge of games that come out today.

Dragon's Wake

First game finished in 2022 is a little pixel platformer in which you start as a lonely surviving hatchling and grow to be a mighty dragon by eating everything that moves (apart from the lizard people you befriend), until you can face your nemesis, the knight who killed your kin.

The game doesn't tell you a lot, mostly just relies on visual cues and environmental storytelling, and that's fine. It probably was the reason though why it did not click with me the first time I tried it, a few years back - I possibly overlooked the clues and just didn't quite get what I was supposed to do and how. Anyway, this time I had more patience for it and it grew on me, once I started to figure it out. Although I still didn't pay enough attention to realize you can re-configure the keys in the Unity launcher at start; in-game, I looked for this option in vain. I should also have realized that there are secondary/alternative keys for every action. This would have been much better for my wrists as the default controls shown on screen are a bit subpar for a German keyboard.

All in all, I liked Dragon's Wake for its refreshing perspective, the story-telling without words, the simple but cute pixel graphics, music and sounds, and the welcome power fantasy of playing a dragon and roasting everything in my way. I do take some issues with the savegame system though. There is only one autosave slot per playthrough and the game mostly just saves on area transitions, which means if you die or quit in the midst of a level, your progress is lost. The levels usually aren't that big or difficult (you can always heal by eating things), so that's something I could live with. You can even exploit this in some parts in order to make "manual" saves by switching back and forth between areas, which will respawn enemies, but also health-giving prey. What I did not like is that there are two or three scenes in the game that give you a limited time only to rescue a friend, and chances are you won't manage before it's too late at least the first time. In this case, you could immediately quit and then load your last savegame from the main menu to retry, but if you don't, the game let's you continue, so it isn't clear whether these events are meant to happen this way or whether you are meant to prevent them. And if you move on, the game autosaves and your friends are gone forever. The ending will reflect this, so you'll get a better ending if you don't just accept fate but fight against the game's autosaving feature in time. Otherwise your only options for a better ending are a full replay of the game or searching for the footage on Youtube. That being said, the ending isn't anything to write home about either way.

The boss battle at the end was also a bit annoying due to the controls and autosaving, but I got close to beating it the regular way so I guess it shouldn't be that hard for seasoned players. In the end I still chose to cheese it though, because that was faster and better for my wrists. ;P It took me about 4 hours to beat the game, but apparently a speedrun is possible in, like, 15 minutes or so.

There is a small side adventure accessible from the main menu after completing the main story, but I didn't like it that much, because at the end it requires you to backtrack to the beginning for no apparent reason, and I thought I was stuck for quite a while, seeing no way forward.

The Wolf Among Us, Jan 4 (GOG)-Definitely deserving of the praise it gets although I still prefer Tales From the Borderlands. A dark, gritty story in a setting I was unfamiliar with using the typical Telltale style. It felt there were no good choices here just bad and worse although I did what I could to not be a complete jackass or homicidal maniac. As usual the voice acting was top notch. Not too much else to say about it, if you like the other Telltale games you'll probably like this one, too.

The Eternal Castle [REMASTERED]. The joke around this game is that it's supposedly a lovingly done remastering of a lost classic of cinematic platforming, except that the classic never actually existed. The main justification of this is to provide an excuse to do the most stylish CGA-style graphics ever done. It's really striking to see in motion even if it's sometimes hard to tell exactly what you're looking at. There's an opening scrawl of text to explain the setup of the story, but it's pretty hard to read and the game has a cryptic, dreamlike atmosphere.

Like a lot of games in this style, the animation is really good and you have to make long running jumps, climb up and down stuff carefully, and engage in simple combat. The game doesn't explain itself very well - apparently you can actually block in the melee fighting, which I only learned after completing my playthrough - but I figured out enough to get by. I don't think the gunfighting works very well, because taking out enemies that are kneeling is weirdly difficult, but maybe there's a button for improving that which I never learned, either.

I was hoping this would come to GOG but the developer said GOG was demanding things that they couldn't afford to implement, so I finally got it from Steam for just a few bucks. I had a good enough time with it that I might go back and try to do the 100 percent run.

Aaaand Super Neptunia RPG has been finished on my PS4 :) . The game was pretty enjoyable, although not as much as the mainline games. It was also much less grindy. The story was little bit cheesy, but it had it's bright spots as well :) . It took me some time to get used to the combat, and how to properly set up the party for each area, to exploit the weaknesses of enemies. But after I got into it, I started to have much more fun with the game. The biggest challenge for me were the Magic Stone Challenges, where I spent a lot of time, because I am not much of a platform player, but it was a nice fresh air in between the typical RPG fetch quests, and I was able to get all 500 of them :)

And, I have just finished the Platinum Run of Super Neptunia RPG on my PS4, which became my fastest Platinum Trophy so far (4 days and 17 hours). It really helped, that we had state holidays and the weather was awful and my wife was at work :D .

My complete list of finished games in 2022.
