I finally spent some time browsing the DRM-Free store FireFlower Games, and grabbed all their free games, all 54 of them. They aren't that good quality wise except for maybe some of the prologues, but they may play better than they look or seem.

Some of their pay for games are quite good, though all up they only have about 10 pages of games in total. Doesn't seem to be any way I can permanently set my billing address etc, or set my currency, so that is rather off-putting as far as buying anything goes, as I like to see AUD prices at a glance ... or at least USD ones.
Deleted, Nevermind, it turns out that the link to Escape Velocity Nova it was to Warez, I didn't read it carefully enough. I was relaying a link to another forum that also bans Warez so I didn't read it carefully enough.

Nothing of any particular note. But if you want something simple and for Windows, try these:
https://portableapps.com/apps/games

None would probably make the list. But they are free and portable for windows.

Defining portable: They don't require installation and can be burned to a cd/dvd and also be run from a memory device; usb stick for example.
Survival Crisis Z is an isometric survival horror game set in the zombie apocalypse
The game is freeware and you can download it here: https://ska-studios.com/games/survival-crisis-z/
Thanks for the contributions. I think the bulk mini games are more of a honorable mention, in which most may find amiable when sifting this thread.Ill take a look at Z as well, when I have more time.

Thanks again folks. Keep an eye out for any free games. Larger our list, the better for everyone.

Looks decent, but Im currently not able to test it. I watched some youtube lets play footage. If you or anyone can help confirm it works in windows or mac and or linux, maybe via lutris or something. I will add it to the list. Thanks.
Happened across some odd youtube video lets play of this game:
https://spacestation13.com/

I think its more of an honorable mention as it is a online multiplayer game. But it is free and seems strange for a chuckle. Maybe someone will find it of interest and bored enough to want to play it. Who knows. Its here now.

Thanks all the same for looking.
I don't know how it works on Win10 and honestly I hardly care but, ForsakenX is/was a community maintained version of Forsaken on PC:

Thanks all the same. Keep an eye out for anything free :)
If you missed this thread, somebody remade the Apple II/C64 classic for RPG masochists "Deathlord."
Be warned the original was "Nintendo Hard".

Seems a little bit in the honorable mention category for being a frankensteins monster of different games. But thank you for looking. I found it on Itch.io if anyone wants to try it though. Keep an eye out for anything floating around on those interwebs! :)
low rated
Just came across this. LGR covering The WeeCee a hardware non-emulated 800Mhz tiny PC, to which may fit well in this category. Although it doesn't look like it's for commercial sale as of yet.

edit: Just finished the video, yeah it's a hobby project only right now. And building one yourself is about $300, so not quite the solution i'd have thought at first.

Thanks...but not really a thread about building a PC. Feel free to look at the first page and find a nice list of free games that will keep you busy a while. Have fun!

I don't know if "frankenstein's monster" is the right word. I haven't tried the remake. I tried the original in high school over 25 years ago, almost 30. I never owned it, but I found the controversial Apple Asimov FTP site that today would be called an Abandonware site, but at the time was an Apple II pirate site. My dad was out of work and I was still in high school. I wound up downloading just about everything in the RPG folder.
It was inspired by Ultima and Wizardry, but I found it too difficult.
Not that the game interface was hard to do, or that builds were hard to make, just that the enemies were too strong, and the game wanted to imitate Moria or Rogue in if you get killed you have to restart, no reloading a save.
Wizardry I also was a bit too hard, given that no matter how much you level up or how well you play, you can still get surprised and get a TPK while making no mistakes simply because of the RNG, but at least with Wizardry you go back to your last save, although Wizardry I practiced save point starvation.
