Although for the sake of clarity, let me restate this: my point is that the game is pretty good and that I like it a lot. Not that it's a perfect game or that it is objectively better than other games I also liked, such as FF6. It just happens to be the game it did things in the right balance for my personal and subjective taste.

you said "the standard of an RPG was simplicity within it's mechanics and wide world to go around and kill shit with your gear", and I don't enjoy that all that much.
