Fognino, Goblin Shaman, attentively looks around in search of anything interesting.
Wait a minute, I have news. I asked the almighty DM how big are the mushrooms and he said man sized. They might be myconids, any ideas as to how to proceed?

If this is really so, I'm wondering if there is a sprout/small size one I could befriend and turn into my pet?
We Halflings do have a special place in our hearts for all growing things, after all.
[47 Raybur Wolfsktaa - Male Dwarven Cleric]

The tunnel feels almost empty now that most of the others has entered the secret rooms, bodies of fallen comrades still visible in the dark, Rayburn decides to watch over the main tunnel and offer assistance to whoever may need it.
*He keeps a close eye to the ghoul though, fearing it may go wild as the distance to his master increase and ready to strike it down in case it happens*
Seeing how crowded the mushroom room is getting, Thelis decides to remain a little longer in the tunnel and see how things will develop. Apparently there are no more enemies ahead, so maybe he'll move alone quietly forward into the tunnel.

62 - Thelis - Human Ranger
We must make a decision before the mushrooms wake up, if they can come alive. I wouldn't mind putting the earth elemental in here to crush as many as it can. One other solution is an area spell like a fireball or an acid fog that does damage over time. In any case we can't risk a fight in this room, we may be overwhelmed. Why don't most of us come out of this room so that we can keep the battle in the doorway? Maybe someone with a ranged weapon could hit the mushroom that is further from us to see what happens? The Holy Guardian, if he's still here, stays in the room and I stay in the doorway.
Godbran Helloburger, the Halfling Thief

Since there is a door on the north side of this square room filled with strange mushrooms I'll position myself right next to this door and look if it is trapped (use trap disarm kit it it is) or unlock it if it's locked.
Then I wait to see what all the fuss with the mushrooms is about.
The following two actions are next on my mind:
1. If the mushrooms come alive and they are friendly I'd like to adopt a small one as a follower, for the love of all growing things.
2. If the mushrooms come alive and they are hostile I'll move through the the door right away and check what lies ahead.
Still mainly thinking of mushrooms releasing some spores that'll affect everyone in the room right away than they coming alive (in which case non-violent resolutions may also be possible anyway). But, either way, I'm still next to the door, ready to rush back to the tunnel if it can get dangerous.

Spores that confuse people, that could be dangerous. Do you think we should just destroy all mushrooms or try to move to the door without touching them?

Bit late for that. So first BeatriceElysia moved to them to try to assess what they are, then PaterAlf picked one up. I'm rather waiting for the results of those things, of course ready to bolt at the first sign of trouble, as I said.
And if they ARE alive, just attacking them right away sure wouldn't be a nice thing to do. Maybe they won't be hostile, who knows. Or not enough to attack right away at least, in which case may be a good opportunity for charm spells for those who have them, plus druids and rangers trying to befriend them using their innate affinity to such creatures, probably.

Zadalon: We killed everything in the main tunnel
thx for the info

Don't worry, Doc. Take your time. We'll still be here, staring at the mushrooms. :D
