It just won't stop growing.

Originally released in early 2011 - Terraria - the infinite pixel playground, receives yet another MAJOR content update. So major it could be an expansion pack, but it's not - it's free and it's four years in the making - because the developers love you so very much.

Terraria is an open-world platformer in which you build, mine, craft, and fight your way across big and diverse procedurally-generated realms. If you have yet to take your first baby steps in one of the most immense video games out there, this is a wicked good time to get your copy while it’s 25% off for the next 48 hours - that's until July 2, at 4:59 PM GMT.

The 1.3 Changelog is huge - it's over 20,000 characters long and includes new features like a fresh Expert mode, a photo/camera mode for the creative, new environments and enemies, and hundreds of gameplay changes and quality of life fixes like revamped town NPCs. Somewhere down the list of changes you'll also find a bullet point that mentions over 800 new items to discover. No biggie though.

Pick up your copy or grab the newest patch right now, and get lost, in the biggest sandbox adventure ever!
Ohhh, neat--I'll have to give Terraria another go. The short summary addresses many of my gripes (problematic light-source items, useless NPCs, etc).

phaolo: Still on XP here too.
Waiting for Win10 in-depth reviews.
Betatest = noo thanks.

gloombandit: I'm just waiting for that damn Windows 10 icon to get the chuff off of my System Tray.
Which will probably be a year from the Win 10 release (if you don't upgrade), as a constant reminder of the free upgrade available.

I only have 5 worlds active at the moment, resisting the temptation of making more

NoxTM: Never played it! Where's the changelog, anyhoo? I'll stick it on me ol' Wishlist so I don't forget.

I would post it but it's so much text that the post won't well post..
Nice one!
I had pretty much forgotten almost everything related to Terraria until this weekend when my nephew came to visit me and he asked me about it. I set up a server and played with him for hours to show him the game. We spent most of the time exploring a small world... and dying a lot. It was like getting into the game for the first time. :-) Then my nephew went back to his home and I was ready to put the game aside once more.

I try to lead a real life over here and now comes Re-Logic and adds a bunch of new content to Terraria...
Fine! Now where did I left my pickaxe?
on the day of it's release too!

well played gog
Is the update really there? The changelog doesn`t say a single word about new content. Is the GOG version 1.3.1 really the official 1.3?

Of course it does. It's a huge changelog and you should scroll it all the way down.

Aaah, okaaay! Yes, it`s huge. I hope it works when I install it right over my old installation.
Very nice update to a fine game, it's always nice to see this type of care towards a product.
Well done and many thanks!

Gilozard: Why are you still using XP on an internet-connected computer? That's really a bad idea.
I'm not using it for multiplayer or web browsing. Just games.
PC is old, so...
When Terraria will be released for Linux, i'll stick with Linux version. I'm not using wine because of performance overhead (PC is old).
