It just won't stop growing.

Originally released in early 2011 - Terraria - the infinite pixel playground, receives yet another MAJOR content update. So major it could be an expansion pack, but it's not - it's free and it's four years in the making - because the developers love you so very much.

Terraria is an open-world platformer in which you build, mine, craft, and fight your way across big and diverse procedurally-generated realms. If you have yet to take your first baby steps in one of the most immense video games out there, this is a wicked good time to get your copy while it’s 25% off for the next 48 hours - that's until July 2, at 4:59 PM GMT.

The 1.3 Changelog is huge - it's over 20,000 characters long and includes new features like a fresh Expert mode, a photo/camera mode for the creative, new environments and enemies, and hundreds of gameplay changes and quality of life fixes like revamped town NPCs. Somewhere down the list of changes you'll also find a bullet point that mentions over 800 new items to discover. No biggie though.

Pick up your copy or grab the newest patch right now, and get lost, in the biggest sandbox adventure ever!
Do town NPCs fight? I've never made it to the point of having them, which is why I ask.

They do now. My guide just blasted a slime. Very nice.

That's awesome! Gone are the days of a random zombie strolling in and killing all my NPCs...
Just bought the game!

I just found out you can also collect vines and use them as ropes so that should help too.
Just so I know that I'm not being a moron, does the installer version 2.1.0.2 contain this update?

Correct, though the game's box does mention the 1.3.1. version.

On second glance the browser tab does indeed, the Downloader version doesn't though. Thanks for the clarification!

Did the guide have his own weapon or....did you give him one?

He shoots arrows but it doesn't look like he's carrying a weapon. I would assume his supply is infinite.
Great news!
please anyone add me if you like Terraria, Star Wars, King's Quest, DOOM, Wolfenstein, or any JRPGs, etc!
THE YO YO ROCKS!!!! :D
Terraria 1.3 installed from Galaxy won't launch in Windows 8.1. Anyone with this problem too?

Expert mode is really evil.. Some of the buffs and changes they made to the pre-hardmode bosses is insane, well save for the eater of worlds who is still a bit of a push over, a harder on sure but still a bit of a push over but the rest the eye of Cthulhu, Skeletron, The Brain of Cthulhu(he does this double vision thing when he's at half health where two of them appear and it get's harder and harder to tell where the real one is) and even Queen Bee are a whole lost nastier.

Skeletron now fires skulls and you basically have to take out his arms first, The eye is faster and it's attack patterns are harder to predict a bit like the Twins actually. I hate to see what the hardmode bosses are going to be like.
