It just won't stop growing.

Originally released in early 2011 - Terraria - the infinite pixel playground, receives yet another MAJOR content update. So major it could be an expansion pack, but it's not - it's free and it's four years in the making - because the developers love you so very much.

Terraria is an open-world platformer in which you build, mine, craft, and fight your way across big and diverse procedurally-generated realms. If you have yet to take your first baby steps in one of the most immense video games out there, this is a wicked good time to get your copy while it’s 25% off for the next 48 hours - that's until July 2, at 4:59 PM GMT.

The 1.3 Changelog is huge - it's over 20,000 characters long and includes new features like a fresh Expert mode, a photo/camera mode for the creative, new environments and enemies, and hundreds of gameplay changes and quality of life fixes like revamped town NPCs. Somewhere down the list of changes you'll also find a bullet point that mentions over 800 new items to discover. No biggie though.

Pick up your copy or grab the newest patch right now, and get lost, in the biggest sandbox adventure ever!

alextmayo: Do updates take longer to reach GOG than Steam? I'm currently waiting for the 1.3.3 patch while my friends already have it installed and are playing as we speak.
Agreed! All of my friends are playing on a server and I'm just sitting here bumbling around in single player.

Sometimes yes, should be up soon. GOG checks the patches normally and I believe they manually have to add them themselves... not sure if that is still true with Galaxy but GOG is in Poland and it was very late for them when you posted. Likely it will be up tomorrow.

It depends on where a dev is sometimes because if they are on the other side of the world in terms of time zones then they could be uploading a patch or update when we are all asleep so we make sure to get the patch out the next day barring any technical issues, of course :)

In any case, just checked my email and the Terraria devs have informed us that they have uploaded an update for us so hopefully we'll get everyone updated as soon as possible :)

Judas could you explain a little bit about how that works?

Based on what you just said, I take it there is a login portal of sorts were devs can upload builds of their games and then GOG will test them and pushes them out to us? With Galaxy is there any plans by GOG to handle this more like Steam were devs can add patches/games by themselves without any input from GOG? I'm just wondering because a lot of times I see devs complain that Steam is just more convenient for adding games, updates or beta patches ect, because they have more control like pushing out builds anytime they need too with Valve taking a more hands off approach.

It would probably be beneficial if the update process could be streamlined a bit, at least for games like Terraria. There was a patch something like 14 hours ago now, and I have been unable to play Terraria online on our server since then because of my outdated client. None of my friends who play the game through Steam had this issue, as their client was auto-updated immediately when the server was.

Yeah, this is pretty damn unacceptable. I haven't been able to play the game I paid for two days straight online because of this inability to push simple hotfixes in a timely fashion.

If GoG wants to see any more of my money, they better start doing a half-decent job. No wonder Steam dominates the market.

You can mine marble to make a fabulous mansion, so your social status will be improved. Duh. =P

AznDavid: Hello Test
I haven't seen a user called 'Test' around, but I will watch for him, and let you know if I see him.

I'm stooopid!

I also just noticed that in those marble caves there is a Medusa and from what I read, getting her head can make that pain in the ass battle against that skeleton asshole a breeze!
