It just won't stop growing.

Originally released in early 2011 - Terraria - the infinite pixel playground, receives yet another MAJOR content update. So major it could be an expansion pack, but it's not - it's free and it's four years in the making - because the developers love you so very much.

Terraria is an open-world platformer in which you build, mine, craft, and fight your way across big and diverse procedurally-generated realms. If you have yet to take your first baby steps in one of the most immense video games out there, this is a wicked good time to get your copy while it’s 25% off for the next 48 hours - that's until July 2, at 4:59 PM GMT.

The 1.3 Changelog is huge - it's over 20,000 characters long and includes new features like a fresh Expert mode, a photo/camera mode for the creative, new environments and enemies, and hundreds of gameplay changes and quality of life fixes like revamped town NPCs. Somewhere down the list of changes you'll also find a bullet point that mentions over 800 new items to discover. No biggie though.

Pick up your copy or grab the newest patch right now, and get lost, in the biggest sandbox adventure ever!

tinyE: I also just noticed that in those marble caves there is a Medusa and from what I read, getting her head can make that pain in the ass battle against that skeleton asshole a breeze!
Wait, you can get head from Medusa, and cornhole a skeleton?! What did 1.3 do to this game???

That skeleton is not 1.3, he's been there a while. I'm talking about the giant one you need to kill to get into the dungeon. Evidently the Medusa head nails anything in the area you point it at so things with multiple segments like that and 'Eater of Worlds' go down a lot quicker because you don't need to kill each individual piece.

TheBoldImperator: Yeah, this is pretty damn unacceptable. I haven't been able to play the game I paid for two days straight online because of this inability to push simple hotfixes in a timely fashion.

If GoG wants to see any more of my money, they better start doing a half-decent job. No wonder Steam dominates the market.

Moopit: Dude, lighten up and stop whining.
Get a bit of fresh air. Breathe. Relax.
Feel better yet?
Not a way to turn me into a repeat customer.

I'm sorry, but I'm not buying games from GoG until I can get assurance of timely updates.

Timely updates? 24 hours?

WTF are you Quicksilver? :P

If I put the money into Steam I would have been playing immediately, it's as simple as that. And it was 48 hours, each hotfix took 24 hours to push individually.

I didn't think of that, now I feel stupid. I was let down though finding a Medusa creature that can petrify you but her head simply deals damage. It would have been cooler to petrify that skeleton boss guard instead or any other type for that matter.

I'm getting a little pissed I can't find a Magic Mirror. It's like they eliminated it for 1.3 :P

It took me a while to find one but then when I found one, of course I find at least 2 almost immediately after..

I found 2 and a frost mirror in the ice caves. Cloud in the bottle is harder to find though, took me forever to get one well I got the Tsunami in the bottle from a crate I got while fishing.

Also Floating Isles are harder to find thanks to the new sky oceans. So far I only found one Sky Island and two sky oceans.

Funny. I found three cloud in a bottles before I finally picked up a mirror last night. The only reason I like the cloud is because when you use it you look like you are farting. Of course there is Fart In A Jar for that but you actually have to craft those. :P

To all the people new to this game, NO WE ARE NOT MAKING THIS STUFF UP! :P

I keep forgetting about the fart in a jar. I should make one tomorrow just for the hell of it. I think one of my characters has the stuff for it. But I know myself, I will start it up and start grinding King Slime to get the slime saddle
I just installed the latest Terraria 1.3.0.4 (GOG-5) version. I noticed that it now takes 841 MB when installed, while the old 1.2.4.1 version took around 100 MB. I also compared it to the current 1.3.0.4 version installed through Steam, and that one takes 98.6 MB. I noticed that all the *.xnb image files under Content/Images are a lot larger than in the Steam version. Why is that? Are they for some reason uncompressed (at least compared to the Steam installation)?

8 times the original size.. I hope that Gog isn't going to use some kind of forced uncompressed installations for every game O_o

A few people have reported that and it must be a bug, It is 133 mb for myself and the majority of other folks I have talked too.

The installer or the installed folder?
