Given how often this happens, I think they have servers (or code) running on different time zones and different ones are responsible for the news and the actual discounts.

Price-wise it's not a really intriguing sale for me. I'd hold on and wait for the next big sale to spend what's on my GOG wallet.

So? This isn't one. Check the end date -- major sales tend to last longer than three or four days, and have rather more voluminous news posts than this one. ;P
